Worth signing I reckon.
Support those trying to save the WAFL ... you'll be indirectly supporting the SANFL cause too.
We're all going to have to make a lot of noise to keep the gathering tide at bay.

Seaton Ramblers will now go broke with no car parking money once the AFL goes to Adelaide Oval shall we start a petition for them?

So glad the sanfl sacrficed itself for port. The gratitude we receive alone is a worthy reward

Typical response from port fans gloating about sanfls imminent death.

I'm sure the sanfls death is a great victory for you.

Your new master will be so pleased!!

I love how some Port supporters carry on like they're in a position to lord it over anything or anyone.

It's truly hilarious. :D

As a whole, they are a bottom club and are there in both comps due to themselves
Broke, surviving on handouts...... basically a laughing stock that no decent players would be recruited to, we love it!
Hopefully this time around we won't have clowns from Norwood becoming members of the Magpies because of some media dribblers begging

It's fine for you, you've got a franchise in the AFL to support. Most people who put their heart and soul into a club dont just want to give up on it and let it die, nor do they feel that way about the comp their club plays in.

They're like the old bloke at the bar living off a pension telling everyone how good they were and how everything was harder in their day.

Leigh Whicker on the radio before, 'we have a legal imperative to make sure the PAFC remain solvent' A telling insight into the real position of the failed organization and a statement that makes a mockery of the supposed SANFL fatwa against the mob in teal. They're the only thing between Port and bankruptcy, financial anyway, they've been morally bankrupt for years

Anyway, I reckon Whicker's a misguided pr*ck, let the basta*rdsK drown.

(with apologies to the sensible, intelligent Port supporters who are currently meeting in a phonebox)

What "legal imperative"??
Is he suggesting that the SANFL, at some time, signed a contract, either with Port Adelaide or with the AFL, guaranteeing to not let them fold?

Yeah they did, with the AFL, not to let either the Crows or Port fold. Obviously the crows won't, and Port are safe for the duration of that agreement, which will end once the afl take over the rights to the clubs.

What annoys me is they continue to try and prop up Port Power when it is 100% certain that club will fail within the next 3 to 5 years. You can not survive when you lose money every time you play football.
Adelaide Oval will NOT save Port Power because the novelty will wear off quickly when Port Power continue to lose and play shit football.
The licence should go to Tasmania and have just one team here.

Over one million people in a football mad state cannot support more than one AFL side?
Surely the answer isn't the number of teams, 2 are manageable, perhaps Port should have tried to form a cartel of Western suburbs teams: maybe Woodville, Torrens, West Adelaide and Port should have gone in together. They could have lured Blighty to coach them then, and AFL history in this state would be completely different. Not just that though. A properly named, packaged consortium representing a broader spectrum of SA and not just Port people, would obviously appeal more as an alternative to the Crows.

Yes, when the second licence was being discussed I was hoping for that, and was planning to take out membership if it happened.
I just couldn't bring myself to be associated with the Magpies - I may have come around had the team not been called Port.
