The Eagles finished the season with a bit of good form and scraped in to the five to now play off in an Elimination Final...
North are coming off a solid win against the Doggies and have one of the best midfield duos in the League with Bennett and Allan...
This should be a thrilling contest in what will be a big day of SANFL footy for the opening round of finals action...

Already this game is shaping up to be the best game of the finals series.
When every other finals game is going to feature West (boring defensive slog), Norwood (see West), or Central (them again?), it does not bode well for an exciting September.

I beg to differ, old son! Were the last 2 Grand Finals boring?

Hard to see this being a close game, either the Eagles by plenty or North by plenty depending on which North rocks up. Don't see good North rocking up 2 weeks in a row too often unfortunately but fingers crossed and we usually are good against top 5 sides!

Eagles have played their worst and best (or at least most convincing) games against North this season.
Will Redden be available? Parry a definite in and hopefully Luke Thompson and Giuffreda as well?

Mick Godden was on 5AA last night amd he mentioned the Power have withdrawn Jarrad from playing SANFL finals...

You would think the Port Flowers would have Redden's development in mind and let him play solid meaningful games that matter but I guess that's why they are a bottom club with no idea forward and little chance of attracting any decent recruits! Joke of a club

Yes, very disappointing all round from the Power. North feel the same way about Stewart, in particular, Blee, Young and Moore. All who have qualified and I would have thought would have benefited from taking part in a SANFL final series. Stewart apparently wanted to play but the Power insisted that he have minor surgery immediately.

I think the news about John McCarthy will have an effect on the eagles. Although John didn't play for eagles. He trained a couple of times and made some good friends down there

I'm sticking with the Premiers.
It may turn out that they have timed their run to perfection.
They have had a poor year but they could still go all the way.

Three blowouts between these clubs, but I don't think this one will be.
Parry will come in, for probably Culley. Think we need to ruck Rae again and Greiger on Alleway, Fitzgerald on Johnston.
Have picked against the Eagles in our last four wins, but I reckon we'll win this one by 10 points.

No need to torment the poor bugger with the term 'grand final'. That was uncalled for O Roman.
