It has been officially announced that Jimmy Allan is returning to Victoria at the end of the season. A huge loss to North and the SANFL.

Now Jimmy's last home game also, hopefully a great crowd to see him off. He deserves it.

It's a pity he was injured late in the season and he didn't get a last game send off at Prospect.

Irony really playing at Elizabeth given some of the Centrals supporters have been the most vocal anti Jimmy Allan people on here (cue WHUFC).

That truism has been doing the rounds for a few weeks.

Nth have done well to keep an interstater interested for the length of time he has been here.

Why is that? We have had a few who have played more than 1 or 2 years in recent times?

Re Jimmy Allan - He has led the league each year in total disposals and believe it or not he is 13 ahead of Liddle this year despite playing 4 less games than Liddle and also having 1 game where he was held to 9 possessions only, so barring a shocker he will lead that again. Does help that Boyd from Centrals will miss his last 2 minor round games due to suspension also.

Has won the SANFL's R.O. Shearman Medal as voted by the 200 game Club players each year 2007-2011 - he may struggle to win it this year given how many games he has missed?

3 MM's - should have had a 4th when the Umpire generously awarded 3 votes to Archard (at least a North player won it I suppose). Could he pinch a 4th this year - not so sure - we had a better year last year re the smaller losing margins plus Bennett would take some votes of him this year you would think?

His record speaks for itself and is up there with the best that have played in this league - regardless of the era that he played in.

Geez since the end of 2011 to now we have lost 3 of the best interstate players to play at North (Gill (2005-2011 / Alleway 2006-2012 / Allan 2007-2012) and all 3 almost not replacable due to their unique abilities but Allan by far and away almost impossible - how many Jimmy Allan's come along in a lifetime?

Well done Jimmy for all you have given to the NAFC - you will forever be remembered.

This says it all. Champion player.

Hopefully the SANFL get all these players retiring this year together and they get some public recognition at the Grand Final. I can't remember a season when so many champions retired at the same time.

Sadly the Advertiser could only manage to squeeze two columns into the Sports Results Digest section on Page. 86 - we wouldn't want anything bigger would we in case the Crows miss out on maximum coverage! Even the Crows Mascot got a big article and colour picture on Page. 7 FFS!

I can only assume that they / Sunday Mail will have a bigger article in days to come?

Did he play any AFL?

Well done on a fabulous SANFL career (even though you are a rooster ;) ). Probably my most admired player from another club.

I hope OTR is ok, no Alleway or Allan might test him.

With all of these top tier players leaving, I fear for the competition. Too many "dyed in the wool" SANFL players leaving in one season.

Best of luck to Jimmy and all the best. Pity North is losing a classy all round player.

a truly prolific ball winner who lets face it we all love to hate because he gets so much of it!
i like many question how damaging his 30 a game are, but in saying that you have to be bloody good to be in the right spot to get that many touches!

if the game was played by 21 blokes who were only any good at getting in and under and dishing it out it would be a pretty boring game! Aussie rules is the best game in the world because you need every type of body shape and game style to make a great team! and jimmy is the best seagull going round! :D

I wasn't going to dignify your comment, but if you think Jimmy is a seagull you have obvioulsy never seen the man play nor have you ever played the game.

Don't you even dare question the mans ability or style of play - he is clearly the greatest player to have ver played the game.

No that honour rests with Barrie Robran and in case you missed it he also played for the NAFC!

Allan > Robran

You obviously didn't see Robran play.

If you have played the game you would know that getting to that right spot is a skill in its self.

Well done Jimmy.

Absoloute gun. =D>
Don't bring him down by putting him in the same sentence as that cheap sniper alleway.
