I guess this isn't all that unexpected. He will certainly be missed by us. A champion of the Eagles and the SANFL. I'm happy he's going out on his own terms. It would have been a shame for him to try and hang on too long.

A great Eagle over the years..... dominated the first half of 2006 GF

I was shocked when he decided to play VFL for Geelong but glad he changed his mind

There will be about 8 teams that aren't upset by this news!

Fantastic career, and as Dutchy said a great durable servant of the SANFL.

Cicca is definitely a great player and only an unfortunate run with injury prevented him from playing more at AFL Level. 250+ SANFL games, multiple time club champion, perhaps should have at least 1 Magarey to his name as well. A legend of the Woodville West Torrens footy club and possibly our greatest player ever.

With no disrespect to Justin, I would have a few players ahead of him, unless you are purely talking 1991>.

Cica is a champion. Up there with the very best from the Eagles. Will always be talked about around the family dinner table like people such as Head and Hank still are when we talk about the mighty Eagles from generation to generation.

Will never forget his 2006 Grand Final. He stood up in that game like champion players do. Has been consistently one of the best for a long time. His evasiveness and vision are absolutely top class. The amount of times you think he is about to be tackled and he gets away will live on in the memory.

Will never forget him signing my 9 month old daughters Eagles guernsey she was wearing as she was sound asleep in her pram on Grand Final night last year. He was extremely humble and thankful to the supporters. He has given us supporters much joy watching him through the years and always gives his best.

Well done Cica. Always a legend.

So 1991 to present he is the greatest ever WWT player? I would like the thoughts of other WWT supporters on this one?

Does the name Mark McKenzie ring any bells???

Don't think anyone has said this (at least in this thread). Definitely up there with McKenzie, Colville, Rogers, Payze etc.

Always admired the guy.

Showed true committment to the Eagle jumper.

Lots of travelling involved for him with training and games over his career. Wish there were more players like him with that passion and committment to his side.

Well done Cicca :)
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Our best in the last two decades as he ticked every box you could consider. Onfield, off the field, longevity, courage, skill, never backed down for the club, put up with failure and rose above it, played with a freedom that was mostly a pleasure to watch each week and has a deep love of the club which is obvious to all. No. 1 all day every day :)

One of those players opposition supporters love to hate. Great career. Always remember him for the spray he gave to his team mate against West......in a trial game  Every second word was f##k and went on for nearly a minute and loud as anything.
