North also recently had 2 byes in a row, IIRC so did someone else, all to do with Foxtel Cup programing

Who had byes each side of the state game, that would have given them 2 weeks off as well

I'd love to know why the fixture has gotten so whacky in the last few years, I swear it was more even back in 1991.

The WAFL has the same issues; Perth played East Perth on the weekend, this week it's South Freo and then East Perth again. How the heck can you have the same team 2 out of three weeks?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

It's almost as if there was interference from some minor pseudo-competition, demanding our teams play in that comp on certain weeks, isn't it?

No, as the draw/fixture was fine last year when they had less time to organise it.
Seems the more time the SANFL have to prepare the more they stuff something up.

The state game stuffs the draw up more than the Foxtel Cup does as it ensures two double byes, piss that off IMHO.
