Obviously The SANFL doesn't give a rat's about Indigenous Round....only 2 games on! Who programs the season?

Just having the round is stupid.

Michael Graham would be thrilled to hear this I'm sure.

The idea of the round is fine, the execution smacks of tokenism of the highest order.

Agreed.

I think it's important to recognise our great Indigenous players but not ideal to do it in a round where there are just 2 games.

How many games for multicultural round? Rivalry round? How many other rounds are 'special' ones?

On a lighter note, the possibilities for "special rounds" are endless really.

If we had an "AdelaideNow Round" maybe they wouldn't have axed the video highlights.
If we had a "5AA round" maybe that station would do more games than just finals (plus a Sunday night show), but I'm sure they'd still win the major SANFL media awards.
An "umpires round" - **insert objective here**
And, "Your Round", to promote bar sales at SANFL games near you ;)

I hate all rounds with themes.
And I had a multicultural step dad and a woman in the house when growing up.
And I volunteered and am of indigenous descent.
I also have a few rivalries.
Complete waste of time IMHO.

Completely agree - why can we have a male piss up round where we celebrate everything good about going to the footy like getting loaded and yell abuse at your own and opposition players, maybe get in a fight or two... we are being discriminated against IMHO

When the Gowans retire I would like to have a brothers round where anyone with a brother in the team has to belt them.

I would also like a break the salary cap round where clubs can hire in for 1 match the highest paid mercenaries going around.

A Noah's Ark round.

All clubs have to flood - at every bounce all 18 players of each side are behind the ball (like soccer starts).

West would have a big advantage this round as they are practiced in this.

Michael Graham is no more special than any other player who has donned the Cambridge and Oxford blue.

The whole round is about highlighting one ethnic group as special... where are the rounds celebrating other ethnic groups or is no one else worthy?

In addition, I don't recall all the other rounds "not" being for indigenous people(s) to enjoy... so with them not being excluded in every other round, why are we trying to include them in one special round.

Its tokenism, someone felt guilty and this made them feel better.

An aboriginal player is no more or less important to me than any other player, I like Cubillo because he tries hard, not because he's black, I liked Paynter because he was good, not because he was white...
