Five in a row. 1-7 at Noarlunga now, only win being the shootout v Port.

South's last three losses at home have been by 6, 6 and 3. :(

How long until Seamus Maloney bangs it into the players to play this type of footy each week? Since their win against North where kicking was a feature, this followed with a month of bad overuse habits by hand before today.

Round v team .............. K:H ratio
---------------------------------
Round 13 v North .......... 1.49 (W)
Round 14 v Norwood ..... 1.34 (L)
Round 15 v West ......... 1.20 (L)
Round 16 v Centrals ..... 1.07 (L)
Round 17 v Eagles ....... 1.20 (L)
Round 18 v South ........ 1.40 (W)

The Double Blues have averaged 128 handballs in their wins this year but 140 in their losses.

Hard to analyse our game. Cross was outstanding in the first three quarters, particular the third, but went missing in the last. Liddle stood up in the second half after a quiet first. Stribling, Murphy and Gotch were at their serviceable best. Wundke and Rolfe were great up forward and don't expect much more than that but Ainger had absolutely no impact. Casley was good in defence but we're still leaking goals way too easily. What's happened to Nathan Daniel? Seems to have gone downhill since last year and again had no impact today.

you can still make it...unfortunately you still have to play Norwood, Us, North, West & Glenelg...at Glenelg, so you'll win that one.

I'm with Southee... I think 2012 is shaping up to be a real disappointment for South Adelaide. After making the finals last year, albeit with a pretty ordinary record, they won a final and hopes would have been high. As it stands now, South have difficult fixtures remaining and could well finish last with 5-6 wins, which would be tragic. I had certainly expected South to win 10-11 games this year and make the Elimination Final and repeat last years successes.

As for Sturt, I am pleased they won, but I still think we are a very strong chance for the wooden spoon. I remain very iffy about our future and I can't forget that once again the team booted clear (28pts) only to crash thereafter and almost lose the game. Seamus may well be in a situation where he has the team playing 2.5 quarters a game and if he can get it to 3.5 quarters, maybe we'll win more than we'll lose, but at the moment, avoiding the spoon is just so unbelievably important...

... for my morale, let alone the clubs!

The win does put North and Glenelg in a very good position to finish in the finals though. From a league perspective, while everyone being close on wins is good, it also highlights how poor the standard is at the moment. If there are 3 other clubs performing as poorly as mine and two more only slightly better, geez, what does that say? Norwood seems the only stand out decent team, with Central fairly reasonable behind them, after that I reckon its a bit dodgy.

Well done Blues, great to get over the line with a huge last 1/4. Couldn't get to the game as I was away for the weekend but looking at the stats it seems that Benny Kane had probably his best game for Sturt yet.

What was the scenario at the end of the game with Plant's shot on goal? How far out and where from?
