That is the Magpies first win over the Dogs in the last 14 outings with their last victory back on August 12th, 2006 !!!

Great win by Port today, they played attacking footy, hitter in hard and simply wanted it more than Central...

Very poor performance from Central and they will need to vastly improve ahead of the Bays next week...

How long until someone tells us the Dogs are in their intensive training period? :D

That being said Port's performance today was as skilled and ferocious as I've seen a SANFL team produce this year. Going to be a ball tearer next Friday night.

Great win Port... persistance wins over..... you pick a 22 willing to put all on the line and this is the result you will get. Centrals probably rocked up thinking 2 points in the bag.... Port have had a few hard years hopefully even though I am Norwood a supporter it's good to see Port slowly coming around..... as for Centrals is the juggernaut over???... I am assuming they are going through their winter spell and will come out smelling like roses in September but I dont see the intensity they have had in previous years. They are lacking where I feel Norwood have made vast improvement..... anyways we kno who will be in the finals these games are just basically a warm up.

Well done Port,,,, maybe finals is a possibility in 2012 now.. SANFL will be better for it.....
Be a great game Friday at the parade....

The only good thing about today was the sunshine. We were absolutely pathetic! Performances like that are unacceptable.

Port were harder, faster and more committed. They played really well. If they keep that intensity at the body up, they are a shoe in for fifth spot.

Meanwhile some Centrals players need to ask themselves if they really want to play finals. We will go out in straight sets if we keep playing that garbage. Hopefully this wakes a few of the guys up.

Centrals aren't as good as previous years, we've known that all year. We'll need a fair bit to start to go our way to be able to have a real "crack" in the finals.
Having said that, as has been demonstrated a number of times this year, any team can win on the day.

Most pissed off I've been after a loss for a long time. Cracked open a beer to sulk with, immediately put it down and went for a run. 10 kays later it had worn off a bit...but not much.

FFS - tackling was pathetic today. No run from defence. Midfield not working back. Defenders couldn't handle Harder or Wilson, lack of pressure at the contest made it easier for them. Umpires didn't have any sympathy for us and Schiller missed the easiest goal you'll ever see. The only reason we were in it at 3QT was because of the myth we've built up over the past decade. That wears off soon enough though and even the opposition wil stop believing it if we throw up more performances like that.

Shouldn't forget about the victors, great intensity today. Some of the tackling was almost fanatical.
And the forward marking was outstanding.

We were never in the hunt.

Some of the stats people would know, but that must have been the longest current winning streak ending today?

It'd go close.
Off the top off my head Sturt were involved in a few.
Central didn't beat Sturt from their inception until the 1971 1st semi final. The Dogs were born in 64 I think so that one was about 7 almost 8 years if my stats are right.
Sturt didn't beat the Eagles for many years, something like 8 years I think, maybe 9.
West couldn't beat Sturt for ages but I can't remember exactly.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
