Matt Scharenberg - DOB 18/9/95
James Aish - DOB 8/11/95 (league debut in round 1, 2012)

Neither as young as record holder Dexter Kennedy though - I think he was 15 when he made his league debut for West?

Darcy Hourigan debuted last year, I just went to check his DOB - seems he was born the same day as Scharenberg

Yep, we we're no guarantee of 4th spot but we won't miss the finals

Can anyone tell me what the reason was for Glenelg getting a free and another shot a goal before the ball was bounced after a goal was scored in the first quarter?

Apparently the umpire didn't like Hartlett stating that he had touched the ball when they got that goal. Hartlett should've shut up unfortunately. Umpire isn't going to change his mind no matter how hard you try.

Average game of footy. West's skill level was poor in the first half, Glenelg's just as bad in the 2nd. It was good to get a win when we didn't play anywhere near our best. Normally in those circumstances we would just continue to lie down and lose by 10+ goals didn't which is good.

Umpiring was inconsistent as usual.

Best on ground would be shared by Chris Schmidt and Tom Lynch (too hard to split). Everytime we kicked the ball forward Lynch seemed to mark. I was surprised we didn't use a Birss or Fielke to try and get him out of way of the footy. Bricknell was sensational after ha;f time (surprised he only had 9 touches) and Jimmy Ezard (also surprised he only had 15 touches but they were all quality) is starting to get back to some of the form that won him a magarey medal. Hartlett was brilliant again and Fergy was just Fergy. Courageous as ever and would just about be the best CHB of the last 10-20 years.

Really impressed with Scharanberg. He looks like a gem.

Whoever decided that white numbers was the way to go on that guernsey needs some explaining to do. Could barely see the numbers from 5 metres away. Felt sorry for the radio callers and stats people.

Agree bloods08 our skills were woeful in the first half and our kicking for goal from set shots, we need a lot of practice with this. Glenelg had no problems kicking goals from anywhere.

If you could've seen the yellow numbers at all, you'd have seen that they were white. Agree completely though, that guernsey is a shocker. It will not be worn at a game again this year, and probably not again in future years.

Highlight of my night was a steak burger in the Bloods clubrooms with $5 pints of James Squire 8)

 Meant white. Was thinking yellow guernseys. Edited accordingly.

However Glenelg had plenty of problems getting the ball into the 50 metre arc. Delivery was average in general and especially woeful to the forwards. West was much cleaner in its disposal all night.

Yes our goalkicking was poor but we had most of our set shots from the boundary line while Glenelg's seemed to be straight out in front or from very slight angles. We still should've kicked a few more of them though.

I think alot of people want to know which West turned up. The free flowing attacking West which pantsed Sturt last week, or the boggy, defensive West that everyone wishes would go away?

Either way, it was the West that have developed consistency in winning, whatever method that may be. Norwood and Central won't let West win with a free flowing attacking game which they can use against the lower sides like Sturt. Having said that, West will need some aspects of this attacking game if they do want to challenge the top two.

How far West can go remains the only intriguing thing about season 2012 for me. It is clear Norwood and Central are the benchmark and it is clear sides 4 to 9 are very average.
