Round 16 - Eagles v Norwood @ Unleash Solar Oval (Sun 15/7)

The Eagles coming off another disappointing loss, this time to South, with their season shot and Premiership defence done, one would think. The Redlegs were depleted but showed their great depth by defeating the Doggies in a bizzare day at the footy. Legs would have to be red hot favourites here.

This is the Eagles past players day at Woodville, I think.

Broadcast Details - 107.9 LifeFM from 1:30pm

I think there will be quite a few players who are playing on Saturday who might be joining this group at the end of the season :?

You never can tell with this great game of ours. Eagles at Woodville are never easy and every team loves to beat Norwood. Can expect the Eggs to lift but think The Legs will be able to take the points.
Still find it hard to believe the Eagles season so far.

Will Mick Godden start to ring a few changes to the side now that finals are looking especially hard this year, so he can have a good look through his list ready for 2013?

Doesn't appear so. Still holding out for a miracle. No significant positional moves were made during the game last week and it seems Godden is giving this group an extended chance to prove themselves.

It has become obvious that the hunger is just not there for the team. The only two games that they have won in the last couple of months have come either side of Bob Hank's passing and memorial service. It shouldn't take something this significant to fire up the team.

Nor he should I reckon .. Like most clubs, the Eagles will need to address a few area's in the off-season, and he's likely seen enough already to identify those area's.

A win on Saturday keeps them well and truly in contention, and once again they have a fantastic "paper side" .. Should they find the motivation it sounds as though they've been lacking, as long a shot as it would be surely Gods would have confidence if they make the finals.

They won 3 finals on the trot last season, so they have the experience .. I would keep having a crack at 2012 until it became an impossibility.

Even with a win against Norwood, they could afford to drop only one more game to make finals. It just isn't going to happen. It should be time to identify the next generation (particularly midfield) and give one or two some game time while there is still experience around them.

What a toss bag that ugg boot clad neanderthal is. Stood in the foyer of the Glenelg Football Club a few weeks back and told all and sundry how much of a "joke" the GFC is. Wouldn't surprise me if he drove a VB Commodore.
