Rnd 12 - Central v Port @ Playford Ailve Oval (Sat 16/6)

The Doggies bounced back with a good win against West, despite still not playing for 4 quarters, while the Maggies got their season back on track with a solid win over South. This one should be a close contest and no doubt Port would be quietly confident they can break their long standing run of losses against Central, both in general and out there.

Broadcast Details - ABC TV from 2:00pm

So who do people think will win this one?

The Doggies have 3 players in Milestone game, including their skippers 200th so I expect they will be hard to beat, plus it is out at Elzabeth...

Daniel Kulikowski will miss this one for the Maggies, still in hospital I beleive after having surgery on some kidney damage, and no doubt he will be missed from the side...

I think this may be a scrappy, dour affair, with the home side to get up* by under 5 goals.

I'd expect Central to show the gap in class between the two teams on their home deck.

Hasn't been a happy hunting ground for any visiting teams in recent years, least of all the Magpies. I think the home side will win comfortably in doing so honoring their long serving skipper.

Central by 50+.

My first live game of the season on Saturday, missing my own footy to take my little ones to play at 1/2 time in the minis. With Thommo playing game 200, the Doggies will be out to win in style. Centrals by 8 goals +

Will be interesting to see who comes back into the Dogs line-up this week with Nash, O'Sullivan and O'Hara having played a couple in the ressies.

Personally i wouldnt mind seeing Nash or O'Sullivan come in for Vater (not that he has done alot wrong).

Dogs by 31 points!

I reckon o'sullivan for o'brien. Unfortunately o'briens four possessions last week and 2 frees against (and one goal for the season) probably isn't good enough for a midfielder.

I give it ten minutes until someone comes along and tells you how many tackles he had though.

For some strange reason, lately We beat Port at Alberton FAR easier than We do at Elizabeth! We should win, 6 or 7 goals, but it won't be easy.

Yep time for Jackson to make way for either Chris Chad nashy or Ohara.

Dutschke and nason would also want to have a big game this week.

I think most of us agree he would be "lucky" if he holds his spot in the side this week! ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson O'Brien keeps his spot for one more week only, as last time Central played Port he was given the run with role on Jeremy Clayton.

If he doesn't perform this weekend, should he stay in the senior side, I think the selectors would have no choice but to send him down to the Reserves to find form.

They do have the option though of dropping O'Brien and playing Schiller as a tagger!

Agreed, but then you reduce the impact of Schiller's improved ball winning and goal kicking capabilites.

I know last year is a while ago now, but from memory Chad kicked about 5 against port last year at Alberton. He hasn't kicked many in the ressies (if any) since his return but I think we need some players that can kick goals in the side.
Now that I've posted the above if jackson does play (instead of chad) he'll probably kick a few.

I agree with comments about Ben Nason. I have watched him in the Sturt and West game and felt his ball handling skills and kicking have been disappointing for a player with his abilities. He should be a game breaker with his pace and goal savvy you'd like to think.
We should get over the line, but again feel another close one .
