So, nearly half way through the season & the battle for The Spoon is very interesting. My money's on Glenelg. Opinions, folks?

Given we've won as many games as last years spooners already and 3 more games than 2010s spooners I'd say it is unlikely we'll win the spoon.

I also reckon we'll finish on a minimum of seven wins so in a 20 games season, no way we'll finsih last.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

For once I AM serious, I don't think The Eagles will stay down there, first you think Port will but then they play like they did yesterday, then Sturt or South BUT Glenelg's form seems to be slowly but surely deteriorating.

On current form South are a shoe in, very little depth in the club and really struggling ATM. Probably between them and Sturt

Appears that could ring true in a few weeks but the way the comp is this year, other than Nwd and Centrals to a degree, any team on the day is capable of beating their opponents. Still along way to go with lot's of twists and turns.

This is the very reason why I started this thread, the fight for the spoon is almost as intriguing for the battle for the flag!

If we were 3-6 not 5-4 I think our claims to the spoon would be valid but given we have won enough games already to avoid the spoon in most years I am confident we'll avoid it. I agree our form is inconsistent but given I'm confident we'll win a minimum of another two games I am reakon we'll avoid the spoon.

I am more confident of making the five now than what I was at the start of the year when I had us finishing sixth.

I'm going with Port as it's about time that they get one. It's just over a 100 years since they got it last.

6 goals to 12 just after half time vs the Bays. If they get up from here the Eagles would be making a statement of sorts. Without something dramatic however, they'll have one hand on the woodwork already.
So far as turning points in a season go, I reckon there's one in progress right now at the Bay, hence this mid-game post.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
