James Gallagher had 33 disposals and 7 inside 50s in his second match back, including 9 crucial disposals in the third quarter when Norwood stormed back into the match. When Paul Cahill kicked truly three minutes into the third term, Sturt lead by 38 points (54 - 16) before the Legs rammed home 11.7 to 1.1. John Greenslade was taken the hospital after a nasty incident in the final quarter, after an unorthodox smothering attempt with his head knocking him out.

Norwood bounced back from last week's loss - the first and only across the three top grades this season - with a comfortable win this afternoon. Clearance machine Ben Vidic led the charge with 28 disposals and a mammoth 14 clearances, backing up the 20 he had a month ago. The 31-point margin didn't truly reflect the Legs' dominance, allowing Sturt in with the last four goals in the match. The umpires were on top in this match with a grand total of 52 free kicks.

What a crap win!!! This was meant to be our percentage booster and we just couldn't score. Oh well, another step closer to October, and always fun to win at the playground.

I somehow think he meant we should have won by 74 not 47. We should have gained more percentage than we did. The third quarter by Norwood was average and the windy conditions proved painful for both clubs.

Percentage probably isn't going to be an issue for Norwood if they continue on at this rate.

I'm just hoping Seamus can get the team game working properly by mid-year... I don't think we're an appallingly awful side, on paper we look reasonable, but whereas last year I thought we were as good as the 6th placed team, though obviously deserved to come last, this year I think we've slipped back and we're clearly the bottom team. Torrens will definitely move up the table and make the finals I reckon, so that leaves us battling with Port at the moment and I can't see them coming last. So the team really needs to get something working up forward, as we seem to have 6 x 1 goal forwards and you can't win with that.

Not if we kicked 14.3... if, if, if, if... it was a good percentage booster, more than doubled our score in a low scoring match.

I was working but had a fair look at the game on TV.
Sturt applied a lot of pressure to restrict Norwood for a long time but seemed incapable of scoring or taking charge of the game. Any side ( maybe excluding Centrals ) that try a shoot out with Norwood will not succeed due to the Redleg's structure and skills.
Can not see Sturt playing finals..... picked them to come last pre season but that position seems reserved for Port right now.
Happy with another 2 points and looking forward to the game against Centrals in July.

Wouldn't say it was one of Norwood's better games by their current standards but they certainly did enough and felt that we were good early. Thought Batsanis was ok but not up to other stellar performances so far and - like everyone else so far - Aish was very good along with Zorzi (who shows not much sign of age) and was also impressed with Newton even though I hadn't heard much about him before.
In an interesting aside, both sides kicked 2.9 in the second half to the northern end.
Can see why we have no one in final state squad as our better performances have been underpinned by AFL listed players.
For my whinge this week, Sturt supporters (and other supporters) are probably aware that there is a group of people who watch each home game from within the bowling club and even though they contribute no money currently to the club, the last couple of weeks they've complained about sponsorship signs blocking their view of the game. Might be about time they wait for the moths to fly out their wallet and then part with some of what's in it.

Are you sure they dont have to pay to get in there? Alberton Bowling Club has an SANFL red coat at the gate and entry terms are the same as the main part of the ground.

Are you sure they dont have to pay to get in there? Alberton Bowling Club has an SANFL red coat at the gate and entry terms are the same as the main part of the ground.
I usually park my car off Cambridge St so I have to walk past the bowling club to get to the gate and I can't recall ever seeing a SANFL gate attendant stationed there like at Alberton.

May be the case - and those two probably aren't the one's carrying on - but not all categories of membership include entry in to the ground.
