For the second consecutive week, we have a battle of top v second with the undefeated Redlegs taking on a connfident, in form West Adelaide side (not including the Foxtel Cup result). Norwood are in fantastic form and will be cautious of having a bad game at some stage this season. The Bloods will be really keen to test themselves against the best side in the comp at present.

I would like to think we will give Norwood a shake, but I dont think we will. I hope I am wrong and we win by a couple of goals.
Yet to conceed more than 90 points in a game this year and our form has been better than people give us credit for. The two losses have been against North by a goal when they were desperate for a win and we had only 1 on the bench for the best part of three quarters (and still hit the front with 2 minutes to go) and a loss to Glenelg by 3 goals when they unveiled their new lights.
Norwood clearly the best form of any teams atm. Our attack at the ball has to as good as it was against Port but our delivery to our forwards needs to be better. Simon Phillips to the Power would be handy for us too.

The premiership table is like that game of whack-a-shark that the kiddies play in the amusement arcades. Each week a different team pokes its head up, only for Norwood to whack it back down a few rungs.
Norwood in a canter.

West to put 82 men behind the ball Norwood to still find a way to kick a few goals and win with the game never in doubt!

Always you bring up the flood

No mention of flood in our past two wins and the only flood against Port was by Port.

From what i have seen of West when they play a team who they consider superior to them they tend to go in with a defensive attitude. Would love to see them come out and really attack Norwood with a play on at all costs style but i dont think thats Collins way.

Careful what you wish for .. Flip's really only had the one good game this season, and despite how poorly they played yesterday, I'd still be shocked if Ports picked him after his performance on Friday night.

We Havent been close to Norwood for some time - Like a poster said above, we have been v. defensive against sides like ND, WWT and CD - If we play a full complement of forwards like we did against Port, we might make a real game of it but for now, I'm Just hoing for a close competative game - The SANFL needs someone to take it up to Norwood for interests sake.

North beat West under lights at their ground and got spanked by Norwood (That should have been a 10 goal plus win to the Legs) so are West really the 2nd best team overall - I don't think so?

Crikey, it's only six rounds in. Plenty of time for other sides to find some form and certainly Central will always be difficult for anybody in the finals.

To WHUFC, I think you put too much into Westies and flooding. They kicked over 100 points on Saturday. As good as they are, Central District are far from an attacking entertaining side. They have built their game on dour, defensive football.

Here here.
I say that because I think Collo needs to consider treating this game (and others) like it's round 1 of his first year in charge. Relax a little and plan to pick a side who can execute a win. I must admit I haven't seen much of West in recent years but they seem to bring their Ä"game for a half of footy too often - and ironically that half of "throwing it all to the wind"footy seems to bring them the two points quite often!
Second spot on the ladder with only two narrow losses should give the players a lot of self belief. They will be underdogs and away under lights on a Friday night. The only expectation should be 100% commitment for 4 quarters and their best game can beat anyone on the day or night. Collo could "release" his players from old formulas to show confidence in them and allow them to express themselves a little and who knows what might happen? The other night I had a rare chance to catch the last quarter of the - Swans v Crows - and it was great to see one-on-one footy. An old coach used to say to me to "man up when your team doesn't have the ball, and run off and find/create space when you do have the ball". So simple in so many ways.
I don't know how well I've really expressed myself here (above), but I just feel Collo needs to dispense with "coaching to protect" and just have a go at "coaching to guide" his players and let them fulfil their abilities. Last year IIRC they won their first 5 games, and then missed the five? There must have been something that clicked for them early in the season that couldn't be continued. What was that?

Cold, possibly a bit dewy on Friday night. That will keep our winning margin down to 50+ points.

Norwood supporters are my favourite. I'm sure you will be clapping poshly if you have time to put your thermos down!
Massive challenge for Westies but if they attack and can kick straight they have a slight chance of causing an upset!

Norwood by 40+ do it for KMAC. Slight chance of winning West?? See you are pretty confident arent you.
Thats how West operate every week we have a slight chance..... slight chance of finals slight chance of premiership and stuff the foxtel cup ...

Saw a fair bit of the Port/West game and it was an attractive free flowing game with little evidence of the usual West flood. Maybe it was a once off and Collins backed his players to beat Port this way. Which means it might revert to flooding against Norwood.

In previous seasons I thought Westies had been a bit negative with their footy, but having seen very little of them this season I'm not about to presume they are trotting out the same stuff.
One thing you know with the Bloods is they usually have decent size and have a good crack physically .. The small confines of Norwood Oval coupled with greasy conditions sounds ideal for them.
4 wins and 2 losses means they're obviously doing something right, even if they're not getting the credit they probably deserve for it.
Reckon this one will be close either way.
