Good to get the win but still not happy with our performance, still got a lot of improvement to be had. Glenelg just turned it over way too much

It should have been all over at quarter time - There were 11 shots to 3 to quarter time!
Quarters
Nwd…5-6...10-8...13-9...17-10-112
Bays…3-0...4-2.…7-5.....9-5-59
Bays supporters have traditionally rolled up by the busload to these games but their numbers were well down tonight I thought.
The half time free kick count was apparently Norwood 17, Glenelg 5? I'm not sure what it ended up being. A lot of holding the ball decisions seemed to be overlooked on the night, for both sides.
For Norwood, Evans had a great game and I thought Warren continued to play very unselfishly, giving a lot of goals up to players in better positions or running past. Cachia, Batsanis, Bode and Brown were all busy but largely it was a real team effort tonight.
Glenelg seemed to lift after half time - if anything Norwood has been a bit ordinary after half time all year, and can still improve its accuracy on the scoreboard.
I think they said on 5RPH that Salopek had 7 possessions for the night? Is he still struggling with his comeback from injury, or is there something else amiss?

Norwood > Glenelg.
That statement is succinct and accurate, and little can be added to it.
New guernsey = FAIL. Could not discern the players' numbers at a distance, with the result that it was largely a guess as to which player was in the action - for those rare occurrences when a Glenelg player was actually in the action. If the club makes the mistake of adopting that abortion as an official guernsey, at least let it have the foresight to change it to have a plain gold back with black numbers.

Crowd about 650 more than Glenelg v South.
Will Norwood go through 2012 undefeated?

It must have been a nightmare for the broadcasters to call Glenelg players tonight.
Agree, the numbers needed to be black.

Doubt it.
1/4 way into a long and gruelling season.
Still too many good sides out there

Incredible depth out at the Parade at the moment by the looks of things.

The start by Norwood was impressive, just way to good.Glenelg turned the ball over too many times, especially when kicking a short distance.Norwood played to their game plan well and even though Glenelg tried to the end were outclassed.

Depth is very good.
The ressies were great again tonight, several guys in that side could or should be playing league footy

Things could be a lot worse.
If you'd said to me in February that after playing 5 games
Will Young and (Capt) Kieran McGuinness would be missing with season ending injuries,
Gavin Hughes and Tom Jonas are both out injured,
Darren Pfeiffer is already playing for the Power,
Nathan Eagleton has pulled up stumps,
Matthew Newton is stuck in the reserves (kicking 6 goals tonight)
we would be selecting a 16 year old kid each week (James Aish),
Nick Ramsey, Matt Press and James Moss had all transferred to the Eagles within a month of the season starting
(and of course Bryce Campbell is out for the season too),
I would probably have been more than happy to be 5th on the ladder.

Came across a few interesting stats tonight.
Glenelg had more Inside 50's than us tonight
Rudolph was the leading stat winner for the Bays with just 17 touches

Disappointing crowd for a friday night, perfect weather conditions, top of the table clash.
Can't blame Doggies or the Eagles for this one eh?

It seemed like there were more than 5,500 at The Parade last night, it felt like more around the 6,500 mark?

Our start was very glum. 22 points down in the first 10 minutes for Norwood reflected that.
The Bays looked reactionary tonight, and credit to Norwood, didn't look like at any stage they could really run the lines.
We seemed unable to bring the ball out of our defence cleanly nor directly, especially when taking a kick in. Norwood on the other hand appeared to be able to move the ball at ease with little pressure.
The Bays were smashed in the clearances too I thought, Norwood always seemed to have more blokes around the contest.
A lot of lessons to be learned. We really missed Ty & Logan, and can't afford for blokes to have a "off" night. As the season wears on it'll be interesting to see how they go. The depth in the reserves is shallower then previous years, so injuries will quickly derail the year.
Elizabeth next week. Really looking forward to see how they respond...

Agree BP, thought last week's numbers were about 500-1000 short too.

Last night showed that we are two years behind Norwood in getting our new structures and playing style to how we we want to play (Bassett 2.5 years into his coaching gig, Massie 6 months (full time role)).
Norwood far better last night and well played to them.
A good reality check for our blokes.
mpve on to next week for another test (dogs out at Elizabeth) to see where we are at.
