Glenelg's "Clash Guernsey"

Postby Ian » Thu May 03, 2012 1:51 pm

What do Glenelg supporters think?

personally I think it is as bad as the mess North had a couple of years ago, what is wrong with keeping the designs simple, the old Glenelg V guernsey would have looked a whole lot better than this

Looks like rubbish kids will love it!!!!

A bit of question, i have heard one reason given for teams to have a clash guernsey is because it becomes merchandise and helps with sales.

The question i ask is, is it really worth it? The amount of money and time spent in the design of the guernsey, throw in the fact you then have to buy a minimun of 60 guerseys for the players to wear which you dont make money on. Is there any profit to be made from an alternate guernsey working on i cant imagine more than a couple hunderd guernseys been sold.

Seen worse.
The Yankallila Football Club has yellow with black sash ( assume they still have it ) that looked quite good. Simple.

Bloody awful. I'm with SDK on this the Yank, North Gambier jumper (yellow with a black sash) would have been fine imo.

Most Glenelg people don't really like it, HOWEVER, the club has said it follows a request from the SANFL for Glenelg to wear a lighter style guernsey for night games especially Norwood & West.

As they already had this jumper available (training) they are using it for those 2 fixtures.

The club has advised members to contact them via reception@glenelgfc.com.au for feedback.

Personally I'd love to see them wear the 1934 jumper. Gold with a Black V.

at the risk of sounding like a broken record the North Gambier guernsey looks like a footy jumper. Hopefully next year our clah strip will look similar

I like the leaping tiger which is unique to Glenelg's logo, but the rest, particularly the white numbers, make it feel like Richmond.
Wouldn't mind, instead of the swirl, perhaps to black lines down taht side like the old Central guernsey.
But also agree, the V-style and the inverted-sash guernsey are also good.

Isn't that just a guernsey version of the Glenelg warm up top that they have been wearing this season?

Why is reversing the jumper, ie North Gambier's design, TOO difficult for some clubs?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
