Could some post up a table with the AFL listed from each team and how many games they have played and if they have qualified already.
Is it 4 games to qualify for finals?

I think it is five games.
So no one qualified yet.

Correct...
There are a few AFL listed players that have already notched up a couple of early season games towards SANFL finals qualification...
Of course, it is early days in the season and regardless of whether the player qualifies for SANFL finals, he still has to be given the all clear from his AFL club to participate.
Will put together a list over the weekend and can keep a weekly tally on this...

I presume reserves games qualify you as well?
What about if your team has the bye and you haven't been AFL selected eg: do you have to play reserves that week to qualify?

Yes, Reserves game do qualify to League Finals participation as well...
And yes, provided that the player whos club has the bye DOES play Reserves for the bottom placed Reserves side, that game also counts towards qualification...
In the instance of Norwood having the bye this week, neither Matt Thomas or David Rodan are named in any reserves side this week (I think the Eagles 2's are bottom) so I don't think this week will count for either of them.

BP - with SANFL games pausing for the state game this week, it would be timely to get an update on how many games AFL players have qualified with to date?
Grateful, if it is possible

Think he has his eyes on qualifying for Box Hill or Port Melbourne
Just needs to change SANFL Clubs IMHO.
Port would seem a good fit.

What if you play in a combined Eagles team that played the SA State u18s, does that count?

I'm pretty sure that byes count regardless of whether the player plays in the bottom placed reserves team. State game weekend does not count however.
I remember querying the Eagles about 5-6 years ago regarding Hentschel (when players only needed to play 3 games). He had only played one game for the Eagles but was available for selection when the Eagles had the bye and on the state game weekend - the bye counted but state game didn't.

Pretty sure the bye only counts when the player is dropped from his AFL side that week regardless of whether he played for the bottom ranked reserves side or not.

How many games to qualify for the finals is there in SANFL?
Can we have an update club by club for which players can qualify its always been a sticky issue which players are eligble and aren't.
I am under the opinion that it's up the AFL teams discretion if they want to make the player/s available isn't it?

Otten, McKernan, Dowdell and O'Shea all qualified for South.
I think the answer to your first question is 5. And your second question..yes. A lot of players seem to become unavailable in Sept due to surgery etc.

At Centrals Symes has qualified.
Henderson has played 3 but maybe credited with at least one more as the Crows travelling emergency(?)

Heard Peter Rhode mention tonight that Tom Jonas and Darren Pfeiffer wont play SANFL finals as they are booked in for surgery but David Rodan is clear to play for Norwood in the finals.
He didnt mention any other names but stated if the players had no niggling injuries or were not going in for surgery then Port was more than happy for them to play SANFL finals.
