Norwood skipper Keiran McGuinness was carried off the ground just before the final siren with what looked to be a pretty serious leg or knee injury. Obviously Redlegs fans will now wait with baited breath for the prognosis, but it didn't look good and it would have slightly soured the win, no doubt. Nonetheless, still an entertaining game that the visitors certainly deserved to win, being the better team on the day.

Last week Port fought back from a 3/4 time deficit to win a game in a competition of little consequence.

This week in a closely fought game in which Port had reeled back its opposition's sizeable lead to 7 points at 3/4 time, Port manages 0.1 against 5.5 in the final term.

Hypothesis: If Port had not played a four-quarter effort chasing victory in a lesser competition, and instead was coming off a bye, Port would have been better able to fight out today's game and the result might have been different.

Discuss.

Good to see us fight it out after a poor 2nd and 3rd qtrs. the first 10 minutes was great to watch, we were running and finding space yet reverted to a chipping game for the second quarter. Once again our defence stood up when Port were coming at us, tad disappointed with our forwards who were lazy at times, some good signs from Warren today though.

@Pseudo, Half the Port players were rested last week, so I doubt it.

That was just what Norwood needed, a tough hard fought game and when the game was on the line pulled away with a very big win. Those games do wonders for the confidence and belief.
Prior to this game we played an under strength Centrals and a basket case Eagles both out of form. Port were in form and playing pretty well but we ended up crushing them.
Great stuff.

Round 18
NW V PA
Norwood Oval
27th July
History in the making , perhaps
Norwood will be trying for their 100th Minor Round win over PA

PA lead 141-99 after today, a Minor round dominance of sorts
NW lead 24-19 in finals played between the teams

Norwood were terrible in the 2nd and 3rd, Port were just grinding the game out and it worked effectively IMO.

Happy to come away with the points

Was anyone else infuriated with the men in white today?
They were terrible to both sides, got no problem if they want to pay holding the ball if someone jumps on it but there were probably 30 similar instances today but they seemed to pay every 8th or 9th one.
And dont get me started on that report, was only a few meters away and Newton wouldnt have killed a fly with that effort, even the Port supporters were laughing at it.

K-MAC

$51 ankle
$1-05 knee
$101 appendix
$6 any other injury

Its very very very very very likely a knee injury, but how serious ???

Personally, I think McGuinness's greatest value to the Legs is his ability to read the play, getting to the back of a contest to play that sweeping role and using superior foot skills.

Would be a massive blow to them if they lose their skipper long term but I'm sure nothing will be known or an outcome finalised until he has some scans in the next day or two.
