Eagles 0-2

Here you go thought it was only fair after my post about Central poor start. I thought it was only fair if I do the same for my own.
Are The Eagles Imploding?
Not only is it concerning the fact we have started the season 0-2 but what is a major concern is the amount we have lost those games by. 55 point loss to Port and then that was backed up with a 93 point loss to Norwood. After 3 rounds that sees the reigning premiers sitting bottom of the table with the poorest percentage of any team in the competition.
Obviously we are feeling the losses of Treeby, Rimmington, Allmond and Tiller much more than expected. We have been a very poorly disciplined outfit so far that has resulted in the suspension of Cicolella and Kane from the first game and now Adam Grocke has been reported. Other than that there are no major injury concerns with only new recruit Robert Eddy and Travis Lane on the sidelines.
Where to from here? I fear for our season because this week we take on an undefeated Glenelg. Could we be 0-3.
Your thoughts...

Only thing that's good is that Central is also 0 and 2.

The McKenzie situation has had a significant impact.
His leadership and guidance off-season and mid-week over the past two years is irreplacable.

You can see its also having an impact on his performance.

I'm sure Spelly will have the exact answer but in 2007 after winning the flag the previous year think we may have been sitting towards the foot of the ladder or very close to it by round 5 or 6. The first game of the season was a pretty big win against South at Encounter Bay but after that came at a couple of hefty losses to Port and Central (on Anzac Day) and possibly another loss to Glenelg and still went on to play in the prelim final.
It's not the end of the world.....yet.

We seem to have one really bad loss just about every year, but the two most alarming things for me (and I haven't seen either game), is, firstly, we appear to have been conpletely outplayed and non-competitive from go to whoa over eight quarters (save for perhaps a token effort in the last 1/4 against Port). Secondly, three reports in two games. It seems we aren't mentally tuned in, and have either got ahead of ourselves or still have inflated egos from last year.

I didn't see the game on the weekend, but the biggest issues (imho) from Round 1 was the Eagles fitness level and their avenue to goal being 1-dimensional, and Saturdays game at the Parade didn't sound too disimilar.
A quality club, with excellent list and super coach so I have zero doubt they will bounce back, but I think a win this week is critical .. And the loss of Grocke (should he not beat his charge) makes that a toughy.

Such early days. It's not just about your team but what happens with other teams that also shapes the ladder.
One particular factor of interest to me is that both the Crows and Power are quite injury free at present and consequently a lot of listed players are in the SANFL at present. That alone can affect results from week to week.
Nwd started 0-4 in 2010 and played in the GF that year. IIRC in 1993 Carlton and Essendon drew in round 4 in 1993 and each were 0-1-3 and they played each other in the GF!
The big guide will be to watch and see whether Port, Sturt and Glenelg can keep winning form going; what happens with South and North and who they claim wins against, will be interesting. I'm not sure where West fits in in 2012 either yet. In the meantime I'd expect Central, Eagles and Norwood to just focus on their own form week to week and to try and take control of their destinies themselves.
By the team we reach the state game, we will have a better idea of formlines. If the Eagles win their next 5 games, you'll all be asking yourselves why you were ever worried!

I'd be surprised if WWT don't turn it around soon, from memory they were a bit up and down last year highlighted by they loss to Sturt at AO.

Disagreed. If this is in fact true then it is a MASSIVE loss as this means we will be stuck with Bock. Assuming he still has the passion for SANFL then he'd be crazy to go given he will be given much more game time this year then previous years.

0-3 and will be 1-4 at best after Round 6 ... not panic stations yet but need to get a hurry on before the season starts getting away from them.
