Rnd 3 - Norwood v Eagles @ Norwood (Sat 7/4)

The reigning premiers are coming off a dismal round 1 effort but had the bye in round 2 to re-group while the Legs had a great win at Elizabeth last round . I'm tipping the home side to win fairly comfortably.

This is sure to be a great match and the Eagles will certainly be better than their round 1 effort against the Magpies. The Eagles hold the edge in the head to head battles with a 35-23 record from the 58 games played. Tied at 5 wins each from the past 10 with the Eagles winning 3 of the 4 games in 2011 incl the Preliminary Final. At Norwood Oval the Eagles also hold the advantage with a 14-8 record including 3 of the past 4 games.

On the basis of form shown so far with Norwood beating Central at Elizabeth and the Eagles getting thrashed by Port at Thebby, Norwood would go in comfortable favourites for this match. Still a lot of unknowns at this time of year though.

At least a couple of players will get a chance to impress at league level with Cicolella and Kane out through suspension. If Grocke and Staple again get well held the Eagles will need to find other options up forward. A huge lift across the park will be needed to make amends for that round 1 performance. I'll back the Eagles in to do it. They seem to enjoy playing at The Parade.

Another hard one to pick and the Eagles wouldn't want an 0-2 start to the year.

Norwood obviously did something right last week, but for some unknown reason the Eagles may prevail after a poor effort against the Magpies in Round 1.

These 2 sides tend to have blowouts instead of close tussles, so will this one buck the trend and go to the wire ... That's my tip.

North v Glenelg is the ABC TV game.
There was issues with council regulations for the ABC at Norwood.

Yes, the scaffolding platform used for the TV coverage was deemed not up to standard, despite there being no problem with it for the last gazillion years.

Nathan Bassett is going to have to make a mad dash after the game so he can get to AAMI Stadium in time for his commentating duties with FIVEaa.

The Crows v W.Bulldogs game doesn't start until 7:10pm and the Norwood v Eagles game will be finished by 5:00pm so he should make it down to AAMI in time for the call.

He's doing Before the Bounce as well, which starts at 5.30pm. I'm guessing he'll just be late.

Yes I wonder if a couple of AFL players that played in the two's round 1 will get a call up(they won ). Or two of our indigneous players will get the nod.All of which are faster than the guys out reported !!
Its Norwood oval kick the ball long from the centre to fullforward !!

The way the ball was delivered to Grocke and Staple they had no hope ! The way Powell and Shirley dispose of the ball is a joke ,Kane wont be missed if we are fair dinkem Shirley will get the chop

Might be a stupid question but are you able to bet on SANFL games and the margin? If so, through the TAB?
