Wanted to get people opinions on how they think he will go this year.. Also those who went and watched the Norwood vs North trial, he looked like a man that really wanted to be out there playing in the red and blue.. Looks as though he has had a good pre season and is raring to go.. Others opinions?

Let's roll out some cliche's.
Time will tell !
Just take it one game at a time.
If he gets a two player tag again he is doing a job by freeing up another loose Redlegs player. If he has just one tag he will run amok.
Anywhere near goal with the ball Eagles is lethal.

Two player tag? What planet you on?
If he could handle a one man close tag, he might kick a goal or two. Let's face it, he is dangerous when he is 30 meters in the clear. Always has been. How old is he? 36?

All he did with a single tag was lead his player to the ball and let them run away with it. Perhaps if given time and space he might do damage, but he can't run away from anyone to get it. Will end the season in Norwood's 2s if they have a reasonable season IMHO.

Well I would have lost money in a bet then. I was being generous at 36 too.

Don't limit that to just Eagleton.

Rumours about Eagleton clearing out his locker, after being told he was playing reserves, seem to be untrue...

- There were strong whispers circulating Saturday evening that Nathan Eagleton had played his last game for Norwood. I followed it up with Redlegs coach Nathan Bassett and football manager Mark Ross and they insisted the rumours were untrue. Eagleton copped a really bad corked hip in Norwood's final trial game against Sturt. He was picked to make his return in the reserves on Saturday but the injury didn't pull up well from training this week so he didn't play. That's not to suggest his potential inability to force his way back into the league team won't cause problems later in the season. But right now he hasn't gone anywhere.

Hhmmm. Looks like an ABC commentator has jumped the gun.

And everything written in the paper is true too? I'm not stiring, because I don't know the truth, but just because the club has played it down doesn't mean there isn't some substance to the rumor. Time will tell.

Well if Eagleton has left, then who can be trusted at Norwood?

Meeting with the club today. He has baulked at playing reserves, which I can understand, but to Bassets credit he picks on form and what is right for Norwood not the individual. I expect him to retire.

Bassett should be well schooled on selecting players based on form and commitment just ask him about a SAAFL Grand Final from 2009

I heard that the club was hoping he was going to retire at the end of last season.
