Just wondering if anyone could tell are the Adelaide Crows able to take James Aish at the end of this year under the father son rule?
This kid can play watched him on friday night the way he went about his footy and the way he took it on for his first game of league football was just amazing.. What can you expect.. Just another Aish

Andrew's son, doesn't qualify under father/son for the Crows.

Believe the Hawks have shown a fair bit of interest in him

I would say most clubs will show interest in him, he appears to be very highly regarded. If Hawthorn are a top 3 side when Aish is in the draft pool, I can't see them being a chance of selecting him (I can't see both SA clubs passing on him, assuming they finish below the Hawks which is likely), unless they offer up a quality player in a trade to get an early pick.

Every manager in the country has apparently been crawling over themselves to sign him to their stable. Apparently he would have been drafted already but for still being too young.

Every club has why are you singling out the Hawks? Do you have a vested interest?

A fair bit of pressure on a 16 year old kid !
Is criminal we can not have a father son rule here to keep sons of stars in this state. If Peter Carey had a kid he would be inelligble because his father only played 400+ games ???!!!!

Up until 31 October 2010 the Crows were eligible to pick up any of Peter Carey's children and after 31 October 2010 Peter Carey's children were probably getting too old for AFL footy anyway.

I thought it was very ironic when the AFL accepted Adelaide's (and presumably Port Adelaide's) issue with not having as many fathers as the VFL originated clubs. So the AFL rectified that by taking the start date out of it so the likes of Neil Kerley et al now became eligible fathers. All after Chad and Kane were drafted of course. Thankfully we should be getting to a point where very few pre 1991 players have sons coming through, then a few more years for Port and we'll have equality in this rule for once.

It'll never be equal as Geelong player's sperm will always be the best.

Criminal in what way?? While The 2 SA sides haven't had chances to pick any Father Son picks to date they keep picking guys from interstate - surely they should chose someone from SA at least they may have a chance to keep him instead of them going home.
