Wow. Eagles were $3.55 in the week leading up to last year's GF. $2.60 with over 7 months to go isn't quite as tempting...

I reckon they've left a zero out of Glenelg's price...

Not very imaginative ...... almost the same order as they finished last year.
Would have Port above South IMHO.

I reckon the Roosters are worth a punt with those odds.

Port and North should be ahead of or with South IMO.
Eagles far too short at this time of year.

Would agree that North are the best value at the moment, based on those odds.
Cheers

a $2.60 winner is far better than a $51 loser, don't you think, Giant...?

My predictions are on a separate thread.
If you want to who I may have a punt on, North will carry my 2 dollars.

South are way under where they should be, and North well over. It's a very very big "if", but if they get their crap together, North are the only team outside the obvious 3 that could actually seriously, perhaps on a Steven Bradbury kind of grand final day, really truly win the flag. Sure, there are a whole lot of things that would have to go right, most obviously that they need to turn all of 2011's many narrow losses into narrow wins, and Lewis Johnston has to star as a marking forward without getting called up by the Crows (much); but there are always a bunch o' things that have to go right for any club to be a flag contender. Except Central.
The other 5 clubs outside the top 3 and North, if being a tiny bit realistic, would regard making the prelim as a great result, and the GF as impossibly wonderful. (Even though, if they did, the result on GF day may resemble the wrong side of a 2007 AFL grand final result that we all know and love.) I wouldn't say that about Glenelg if their finals record wasn't what it is, but winning finals is unfortunately a bit of a precondition for winning the flag.
The justification for Norwood at 5 must be that, if South are on the 4th line of betting, the bookies are already calling it as a 3-horse race. And in a 3-horse race, $5 for the least favoured, but still vaguely competent, horse is fair enough.
