Congratulations to Barry Dolman, Bob Fox and Bradley Ryan who got elected to the board.
It meant 2 long term board members have been replaced and also Glenn Elliott the ex CEO applied but got the lowest amount of votes.
North supporters/members are very happy!
I even made a pledge before the vote that I'd pay for a Vice Presidency if a favourable result occurred so its looks like I might be doing a Centurion this year and inviting a few people to lunches!
:D

Ahh Bob Fox has been a life long fan/official at the Roosters, good on him. Used to work with him years back.

Bob was the only sitting member who put his name up that kept his spot. He's well respected and liked by members.
Wayne Jeffries and Malcolm Nairn lose their spots.
Throw on top that we now have Greg Edwards as CEO and I'm the most happy and optimitic about the club than I've been in a long long time.

Now lets see what other fallout occurs at Prospect with the Gerard influence "diluted" at Board level! Can see a couple of others going soon and maybe the Mistral sponsorship as well?

Time will tell!

Fantastic to see Brad Ryan on board. Having successful past players around the playing group is a plus generally. A lot of these blokes do plenty that not many hear about.

Possibly, how long is it locked in for?
While the money would be a big loss, a more transparent and less dictated to management would be a breath of fresh air.
The financials should be easier to cover now the club has 2 very strong income streams.

The current board and CEO are striving to mend splits in various supporter groups caused largely by a far too great a focus on satisfying the corporate world while neglecting the members and every day supporters. The board acknowledged that they still have to satisfy the corporate world to attract sponsorship $$$ but that must not be at the expense of others.

With Greg Edwards becoming the CEO, does that mean that Adelaide United and North will now become ONE CLUB?
He has a habit of making these things happen! [-o<

The NAFC has no ties what soever with AU, after the initial trial the board decided it was not in North;s best interest to continue with management sharing and that the CEO either had to be CEO of NAFC or AU, not both, The board has stated "it will not happen again"

I was just about to post the same thing.

The only remaining tenuous link is one Board member who is on both Boards, but he also has involvement with the SA Trotting Club, the SAJC and numerous other Boards, so I don't see a great conflict of interest.

Given last night's Board result, it will be interesting to see if those remaining Board members in the Gerard/Elliott camp serve their full term. I think that their are two left.

Well if the new board fails to deliver on some of their promises, then they should be criticized shouldn't they blacky? I agree it will be interesting to see what eventuates.

If the new board delivers on 1/2 of what was promised last night it will still be a big step forward.

If this board concentrates on seeking onfield success and treats the members with respect there will be no bagging. I can't remember the Board being bagged in 1987 or 1991 for example.

Nor were the Board bagged between about 2004 and 2007, but the wheels fell off big time after that.

Phil Lounder resigned a few weeks back and the only other AU owner left on the Board is Dr. Richard Noble so it will only be a matter of time you would think before he goes?

North hit as Gerard pulls sponsorship plug

NORTH Adelaide is scrambling for a new major sponsor after powerful South Australian businessman Robert Gerard this week ended his 20-year association with the club.

The Roosters may take to the field in clean-skin guernseys after two new sets printed with Gerard's company, Mistral, on the front are now void. Gerard told the club of his decision on Thursday.

President Bohdan Jaworskyj said while he had an "inkling" of the move, it would be tough to find a replacement just one month from the SANFL season.

"It makes it more difficult to get someone to quickly commit," Jaworskyj said.

"We've got Mistral on the front of our new guernseys and that's the next step - whether we choose to get blank guernseys with the view of putting a sponsor on later."

It is estimated the deal was worth $50,000 and included services and use of Gerard's facilities.

Gerard could not be contacted yesterday but Jaworskyj said there were probably "a number of factors" but not one specific reason for his decision.
