I've heard about 4 or 5 top line players may be on their way out but was told after a few beery's so can't remember the names.
Interesting times in Pantherland.

I'm sure they get to Noarlunga in the warm weather, think "this is great, look at the beaches, great sea breezes" etc. then start the season off with a flier..........and then comes winter, and it's "what the F@#K are we doing here" as the icy winds blow over polar park.

I heard that from a Port player, I can see where you're coming from but he's a damn good player when his head is right. Be interesting to see him and the Port cheersquad make up as I was pretty close to both in Rd 1 at Noarlunga, some funny shit going between the 2.

Apparently didnt ever bother telling the club he was leaving. All for more money. I dont want that sort of bloke at the club, no matter how good he is.

Fair enough, not the way to leave the club, I did hear that the money he was allegedly offered down South was a ridiculous amount and too hard not to say yes to.
Must admit I was very impressed with Port's ruckmen this year, if Parry did come back to Port you'd think he'd be almost a permanent forward pocket player. After the way he played on Hargs at Noarlunga giving away 2 or 3 stupid goals in defence I don't think we'll ever see him in the backlines again.

Fair enough if he wants to leave....at least tell the club that your leaving tho. Show a bit of class at least.

Maric was good this year for a kid in his first year of senior footy. Dont rate Meiklejohn at all. We do need another ruckman. If Maric gets into the Crows side he may not come out again. We have Butler whos pretty good but the only other one we have is Munn whos only about 192cm tall. We have Bayden Iron whos pretty highly rated junior but we do need a good experienced ruck from somewhere.

parry is a good targer up forward and was good at south in the FP, but yes, he is a money hungry player and wouldnt want him at sturt...port can have him back

As I posted on FootySA, the mail I got LBJ was that there was nothing sinister behind their departures, just players wanting to return back home (well, in the majority of cases anyway) ... Although if the Hedge whispers turn to reality that could dispel the notion ...

From an outsiders point of view, even if there is a little pain involved initially, I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing for the Panthers .. They have some good kids down there and the local component imho is a key ingredient in any SANFL side.

Well it will be interesting to see if these younger guys at south can step up. Its clear why they havent really been given a chance. So this might actually be good for south, instead of buying a team, try building a team with the adding some good young guys into the team.

Brent tuckey came in to work today(i work for a bank) and i asked him about what is happening and yep, he's gone too. He wants to go up to southport in QLD. still has a year to run on his contract. He also said that "13 others are going including hall, flem, king, davis etc." He was pretty open and disappointed with the situation down there.

I was pretty shocked :( Hadn't heard any news til then. Tucks was a great player to watch.

Granted we've done very little with all these new recruits in the past few years but the potential was certainly there, i think they just need another year together.

From a post on FSA....i would expect some of these players to be pursued by other SANFL clubs so it will be interesting times at south in the coming weeks/months...hmm, i bet wcp doesnt know which way to turn, poor guy  :P

Well what they should probably do is just play all the younger guys in the team. I mean thats pretty much all they can do. Sure there will be more short term pain which will probably be considered as just adding to the long term, anyway this is pretty much what happens after you try to buy a team and a buy a premiership. When the wheels fall off.........the wheels really fall off.

If the Panthers give the southern suburbs footballers a REAL reason why they should play for them I am sure the club will go on in leaps and bounds.

There are plenty of good footballers in the SFL and GSFL who could give it a go in the SANFL with the panthers but couldn't be bothered because of 3 reasons.

1) Some of them are picking up fine pay checks from their suburban clubs but would play for south if......

2) They had some success and stability and

3) Actually promoted the club more than what they do...............I get the impression that because the pokies are ticking over well and BIG AL is making some good noise with the karaoke that financially they are well so the onfield results matter little.
