If the player has not been previously tied to an SANFL club they go into a draft pool from where the SANFL clubs choose a player in reverse ladder order from the just completed season. Hence Sturt will have first choice, North second etc up to Centrals 8th, eagles 9th, Sturt 10th until all players are allocated.

Hence most clubs have both Power and crows listed recurits on their playing list.

No offense, but haven't you heard of the mini draft before for all new players to the SA afl clubs that need an SANFL home?

Yeah, usually in February when the mini-draft happens - last year the Dogs didn't even get a pick. ;)

This process (mini-draft) has seen Central get players to their club like:

Michael Stevens
Brent Guerra
Ryan Williams
Jack Gunston
Jonathon Griffin

All Premiership players 'udogs01' and players who gave or still give good service to CDFC.

I thought that the whole schtick with One Port was that Port Pahhhhhr recruits were going to be automatically allocated to PAM, and the mini-draft would now be confined to new Crows players. If true, it would mean that any team who finishes in the top 5 (not just the premiers, and occasionally grand finalists, as in the past) is a chance of not getting a pick.

Can anyone confirm?

I think Don Webb went to Norwood. Jordan Barham went to Central, but returned years later and played for Port. I also thought
Michael Handby was at Glenelg before South?
