From the NAFC site:

http://www.nafc.com.au/news/p3484.aspx

www.nafc.com.au wrote:The North Adelaide Football Club wishes to advise that
Chief Executive Officer Glenn Elliott will be leaving the
Club after nine years service to join the Adelaide United
Football Club full time. Elliott, who joined the Club in
2002, during severe financial turmoil, has seen the Club
grow to where it is today.
Roosters President Bohdan Jaworskyj said “On behalf of the board and
the club we thank Glenn for his significant contribution over the last nine
years and we wish him all the best in his new challenge as CEO of the
Adelaide United Football Club. Our Club over the past nine years has
dealt with many significant challenges and Glenn has played a major role
in driving change in a difficult environment. Glenn leaves the Club in a far
stronger position then when he joined and has achieved some significant
business opportunities with the Grand North and Northern Tavern and
more recently with Prospect Pavilion Fitness and Function Room
refurbishment. Whilst we don’t underestimate the challenges ahead, the
Board feels confident we are well placed to meet those challenges.”
The North Adelaide Football Club Board is in the process of putting
together a plan to recruit the most suitable replacement for the role, to
commence in November

Sincere commiserations to Adelaide United. ;)

You're not the only North fan over the moon about this. Guy I know has been waiting eagerly for this day since around 2002. Lol.

No matter what people (mainly North fan's) may think of Glenn and how he ran the club - he did a very good job. No CEO is ever going to please everyone and having had a very close football connection with Glenn I can say that he did a great job in turning the NAFC from a financial basket case into being the leading SANFL club in terms of assets and revenue and there is no denying that. He also took the job on a poor salary which improved to be market competitive once the club had the $$$ rolling in.

Glenn was also very vocal in support of the NAFC and the SANFL and many a time he ruffled a few in the SANFL with being the first to speak about issues (e.g. the Port Merger) however that's what the comp needs.

Let's hope his successor (whoever that is) follows his example.

Couldn't agree more. This bullshit about the CEO having to have a hands on relationship with the football department is just that. Bullshit. The CEO is there to run the business plan, and the Club as a whole. The Board is there to tell the CEO what they want. Glenn has done a brilliant job except for the time clock and the siren. Good luck with the new appointment Glenn E.

Any word as to whether his family members will continue to be 'consultants' to the club?

Yep the time clock and the siren even proved too much for even Glenn's talents. I wish him well, he's done a great job turning the club around financially ans sticking it up those teal bastards.

Does he want it.

When he left Port he said that he wanted more hands on involvement with the footy side of a footy club rather than the admin.

Fair enough...

Just curious - Greg is a good operator and a nice guy to boot.

Couldn't agree more. I think that he would be a great CEO. Only time will tell if he puts his hand up.

Had a chat with Megsy and he definately wants it and he would make a great CEO - hell of a nice bloke and a very astute operator. I would think he is the logical choice for the role.
