So who will the eagles lose besides treeby and most likely toumpas?

Well done to the Eagles. It was a fantastic game to be at. Central are such a bloody good team though they kept on coming when most other teams wouldnt have got close.Thought Parry (wheres Bunton ;) ) and Powell were great for the Eagles.

Thought the speaches of McKenzie and Godden were brilliant too in the way they included the whole club not just the 21 who played.

Thank christ I dont have to hear Central District, reigning premiers for at least 12 months :D

Well done to the Eagles boys on here too that take alot of crap (especially MickyJ)

Great win by the Eagles against the odds big time. They were out on their feet and just hung on but considering the injuries they went in with it was a fantastic effort.

No doubt young Thompson would be smiling tonight , he was right .

A great Grand Final and if anyone thinks the game is boring , well......not much idea .

Would think they might lose a couple to the draft.
Probably a good note for Cicolella to retire on aswell

Eagles deserved it.
Said to the wife at about the 10 minute mark of the first quarter the boys looked flat and distracted. Looked like 2002/2006 all over again, and that is the way it panned out. Didn't deserve to get that close.

Now for all those Centrals fans who mouthed off for the last 2 weeks to come on to this thread and acknowledge they were beaten by a better side....oh yeah, that would take humility..(and to know what humility meant).

I'm still surprised it wasn't a Norwood v Sturt grand final, I've seen Central and Eagles this year and they looked ordinary!

I have no idea how the hell we ended up within 3 points of the Eagles, and ultimately a wayward kick away from a premiership. The Eagles were, by far, the better team on the day. Often first at the ball, far cleaner skills, and often playing the smarter football (such as kicking long from kick-outs, which Centrals couldn't cope with) and having shots at goal from outside 50 in the second quarter.

It was fantastic to see Centrals never give up right until the very end, but the better team won, and I extend my congratulations to the Eagles

We also join Vancouver (NHL) and Collingwood (AFL) in being sides that dominated 2011 but fell short for the premiership...

Absolutely destroyed and just did not look good enough .

Cicollella I'd expect to announce his retirement and the same for the Gowans.

Wasnt it great to see the Eagles early set the tempo and do what Centrals have done for many years in finals but no-one had caught onto. Thats put the top notch players and hard players from the opposition into the turf hard. Graet to see the Gowans get buried a few times in the first 15 mins, set the tone IMHO. Took the puppies along time to recover from their hard men getting put down, but they showed why they are such a great side and really should have won it with one of the last kicks of the game, but not to be. Great job Mick Godden and his side. Maybe not the best side all year but definatelty the best side today but also what a great G/F

I loved Craig Parry's short speech after he picked up the Oatey and dropped the F word in the second or third sentence on live television - classic!!!
