Given his performance in the back end of the season, there's a question for two lots of supporters.

Norwood fans, are you happy you got hold of him? Would you hope he plays on next season?

Westies fans, many of you were disgruntled at season's start that Eagleton had not returned to the Bloods. How do you feel about his decision now? Do you think you dodged a bullet, or still would have liked to have him for his experience.

Having such a long AFL career, it can't have been easy for Eagleton this season, given expectations and the lesser medical support that an SANFL club can provide. How did people view his season overall?

As onlookers, it's difficult to assess the impact he has had behind the scenes. Perhaps he has been a valuable teacher. Having seen them train, there's no doubt he is an excellent leader on the training track and uses his constructive voice well.

Plenty will be said about his performances on the field, generally that speaks for itself.

Short answer - no. He expected it to come easy and when it didn't, he wasn't prepared/able to take it up a level and he was found wanting in far too many games.

I think its clear for all to see mate that it was a failed experiment both for player and club ... I like most people thought he would have been a handy recruit, so Ive got no issue with the club's decision to target and land him, it's a tough gig recruiting because sometime you get one wrong, and sometimes horribly wrong, but all you can go on is the quality and ability the player has shown to date (at point of recruiting).

Seems a good bloke, so it's a shame it hasn't worked out, but Eags now needs to have a big think about whether he wants to commit to a big pre-season or draw stumps.

Is he tagged every week ?

From what Ive seen he has been, and I can't recall seeing anyone ever cope as badly with it

To be fair to the bloke , teams are not prepared to let him run free . So maybe the issue isn't solely about him and more how the coaches handle it.

Hayden Skipworth didn't handle it too well against westies, Sal Hassan, i can recall.

It didn't work at least on the field. A lot of positives off the field but that can be hard to measure. Our recruting overall was fairly good this year so I guess you take the good with the bad.

The value of such players outside of game day is undervalued and I reckon Eagleton would have probably paid back what he cost in this regard.

Mind you, a kick or two in the finals wouldn't have hurt.

25K for westies in transfer fee was handy - In all honesty, if he played for the bloods, we may have won a couple more games and made the finals but we wouldnt have made the GF -

Welsh cost Eages a simialr amount in transfer fee.

I gusess collins made two good calls in hindsight

Not sure either were his calls?

When was the last time he got above 20 possessions? I seem to remember reading that he only did it twice ALL YEAR.

One of the worst recruits I can remember. Possibly worse than Robbie Ahmat.

Didn't fire a shot in the finals, barely fired a shot all year other than the first few rounds.

Hope we didn't pay him much.

Yep good call......need players that want to play for and bleed for the jumper.

Westies made a great decision there.

He was good versus sturt, and I thought he would of had a better season

Wasnt there a thread at the begining of the year to "just give him the Magery Medal now"?


Westies fans maybe happy about him missing out on a Grand Final but remember Tiller still made one
