Yeah I know, they're not playing anyone but this is as announced:
F: Harder Havelburg Crane
HF: C.Gowans Grocke Gill
C: B.Kane Campbell Pfeiffer
HB: Spurr McGuiness McKenzie (VC)
B: Sansbury Rudolf Morris
1R: Parry Thomas(c) Allan
I/C: Meiklejohn Thewlis Lewis Jarrad
Coach Roy Laird
(Might have Thomas and McKenzie around the wrong way, hard to see properly)

Have to admit I am surprised none of those South onballers got in. I thought it was just me who didn't think they were quite the guns we were being led to believe.

Yes surely the Ken Farmer Medallist gets a spot ahead of Harder and Gill.

Given that the team is "picked to play" who gets the job of manning up the opposition forwards when Mcguinness, Spurr, Jarrad, Sansbury and Morris (to a lesser extent) peel off their players to play loose as most f them have for most of the year?

Funny how you throw the trash around, but if anyone says anything about your precious North boys, you're up in arms about it.

I dont think the Ken Farmer medalist plays on the half forward line mate!
Gill had a great year. Finally shaking off the Crows disease.
PS I would have had Wundke at FF.

Have to agree. In a team merely named for naming sake ( like the AA team ) then Wundke must be at FF.

Once young Gowans has been around for a few more years he may get to see his name spelt correctly

As always, couple of surprises.
Surely Wundke in, and happy to have Harder as a forward pocket.
Sign of the way footy is played these days that in a reasonably low-scoring year, there is not a stand-out fullback. Would have thought Georgiou, Crabb and Greiger, even if not in good enough form that would normally warrant selection in this team, have been better than Rudolph?

I reckon George had a 3 or 4 week down period but other than that has been pretty good .. Hard to tell at times I guess with the way Norwood setup.
Most people recognize McGuiness' offensive play, but he's taken some big scalps defensively in the last couple of seasons that often goes unnoticed.

Smashed the rest of the comp in clearances, a massive KPI in the modern game. They go alright. Not unusual for you not to rate anyone not in Dogs colours of course. Once again you snipe from the ivory tower.....

Agree about McGuiness's defensive efforts sometimes going unnoticed. Perhaps because of his size, to me it often seems he is going to be out of position, scrag a little and "just" spoils his opponent, a bit like Stephen Silvagni, rather than a real authoratitve spoil. But then i don't see him every week. Perhaps could have Alleway at CHB and McGuinnes at FB, but how much footy did he play at FB this year?
