The Maggies got themselves into the 5 with a good win down at The Bay last week and their finals destination is in their own hands, beating the Eagles ensuring they will play finals.
The Eags had a very conmfortable win over the Bloods and are finding some good form at the right time of the year. This battle between the 2 western suburbs rivals will be tight.
The Eagles by 2 goals for mine.

Don't want it to happen, but I think Port will win. The Eagles are in a position to rest some better players, and Port will be going flat out to grab the last spot. Port by 2 goals.

Eagles should be treating this game very seriously , but with different personel . If anyone needs to freshen / rest injuries , then now is the time . Its no use whinging in weeks to come that the preparation could have been better as that would hardly be the case . Port will be Port and we could hardly ask for a better team before facing Norwood , but if a handful of changes are needed so be it , just as long as the gameplan gets followed to the letter then we get what we need from the game and if Port are too good on the day so be it

Steve Summerton's 100th on Saturday. He's turing out to be a great player for the Magpies. Anyone else think he is the dead ringer for Bucky Cunningham? I reckon Summo's mum was Bucky's milk lady
Fingers crossed we can rise to the occasion and cement a finals spot!

If anything, I think he's not the player he should be. When he came onto the scene he looked an out and out SANFL star. Not sure whether it's injury or just less other top level midfielders at Port mean opposition sides shut him down, but I suspect his next 100 games will be much better than his first 100.

His first 100 games have been absolutely superb. This year he has been quiet due to a reoccuring foot injury. The bloke absolute tore the comp to pieces in his first 3 or 4 seasons. Bloody gun! Congrats on the 100 games Summo

Yep, little Bucky is a top quality mid-fielder. A couple of yards too slow for AFL though.
Gun for us for years to come. Him and Froggy Dolling the "in-and-under" of our next 5-8 years.

I've been calling him "Bucky" for a couple of years. This year has been good but I agree, as the side around him gets more experienced, Summo's best is ahead of him.

I'm glad there's a few other 'bucky-a-likes' out there. I'm mates with Bucky's son and always refer to Summo as his brother. LOL

There'll be a bit extra riding on Saturday's game now with the passing of Bob Clayton this morning.
Great servant to the club.
RIP Bob.

Our comp as a whole is every bit as interesting now as the AFL this week , now that they get to set free the bottom nine crap teams

Sad news, Bob was a terrific fella as well as footballer/administrator.

So does Maric get a farewell game now that he has pulled the pin?

One gets the feeling Clayton deserves his own thread, perhaps a Port fan should be the one to do the honours though.

It's ground breaking, earth shattering, unbelievable news. The Eagles have named an unchanged line up for this Satudays game. I couldn't believe it when I read it a little earlier today. Cue spellcheck, when was the last time this happened?
