Round 20 - Panthers v WA @ Hickinbotham - 2:10pm Sat 20/8/11

The Panthers will be fresh after coming off the bye and full of confidence after their impressive win against Glenelg in round 18.

They come up against a West Adelaide side who will be hoping to recapture their early season form. To do this they will need to find multiple goalkicking options, however I can't see them kicking a big enough score at Hickinbotham to notch up the win.

I'll select the Panthers by 5 goals.

Interesting fact that South's last 2 premierships ('64 & '35 ) have come after wooden spoons the year prior. Surely lightning couldn't strike a third time?!
That said, this week concerns me slightly. Not played for 3 weeks, and Westies 'due' for a win...

West will get run off their feet & their march to The Spoon will coninue on its merry way! South by 28 points.

This is probably the Panthers' biggest match since the 2006 finals series. A win in this one will more than likely ensure a finals berth in September.
However, West have improved and will be playing for their season as a loss will dash any chance of playing finals footy.
South will win plenty of the footy, with their very much underated but lightening quick midfield, but I worry that in defence the Panthers are horribly short in most matchups particularly without Talia and Mckernan.
South to win but it wont be easy.

If Eagles, then they'll be 3 points ahead of South, if the Bays 2 points (assuming South win).

But the lowest FOR in the comp and only 3 scores over 100 suggests West wont score enough goals.
