Awful game of football, nearly four and a half thousand and very little atmosphere. I thought our skills were sloppy and worst of all we looked slow right from the start. Very happy to win but we need to improve by a lot or I'd expect us to go out in straight sets.

I have a feeling North will get a win against us next week.

Norwood too good in the third quarter, but at least after that display, no Norwood people can point the finger at West for flooding

Norwood played 15 minutes of football tonight and won the game. The other 85 minutes was pure crap. The Legs are playing some very uninspiring football at present, and have done for several weeks.

I've been criticised on the Redlegs forum for saying we need to improve by at least 20% if we are even going to play in a GF this year, and after seeing tonight's game, I take it back, I was wrong. We need to lift at least 30%.

Umpiring was rubbish as usual, three men in white with more whistles between them than brain cells, no feel for the game whatsoever. At least the mistakes the players were making made us forget about umpiring for awhile.

Nope. Two former AFL players aspiring to be AFL coaches, and coaching against each other in an SANFL game = dull, boring, football. Not good to watch, and if we (the entire SANFL) keep producing footy like that, we can't really complain if nobody wants to televise SANFL matches any more.

Yes i said at half time it was a crap game of football. Luckily we only needed 15 minutes of good football to beat them. Disappointed we put the cue in the rack in the last quarter, must be saving ourselves for next weekend. We have been a bit flat for a few weeks now, much better effort will be required finals time

West v South games have generally been rubbish the past 4 or 5 years. Could get the same next week.

West v Anyone games are generally rubbish. That negative crap style of game that they dish up always brings opposition teams down a few notches. Luckily that style of play won't have them playing finals anytime soon.
BTW, how many goals did Westies get from ridiculous free kicks tonight? Umpires did a great job of making themselves get noticed, for all the wrong reasons

easily the worst game of sanfl i have seen this year. scrappy, boring.

not a bad crowd. not sure they will be hurrying back after that.

umpiring wasn't that bad. they got a few dropping the balls/incorrect disposals wrong and westies got a few cheap ones late in the game...nothing too bad.

nlrwood need to pick it up a notch if they think they are going to challege a fulls trength centrals in september.

Come on Jim havent you realised West are a brilliant football side just a tad out of lack. Every team who beats them plays at their absolute maxium best for 4 quarters to get over the line.

As for the defensive tactics, Norwood spent swathes of time with 18 men camped in West's half.

They even got a goal or two kicking into their totally empty forward line.

It might as well been 103 points everyone i spoke to said West never really looked like winning at any stage.

After the third quarter they certainly didn't, but that's a long way from 103 points, no matter how you spin it.
