Round 17 - West v WWT @ Richmond - 2.10pm Sat 23/7/11

Postby GWW » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:47 pm

West will be very keen to get back on the winning list this week on their home ground. They come up against an Eagles side however who's confidence would be restored after their impressive win against Norwood.

The Bloods are always tough to beat at home, however I think WWT can win this one by about 4 goals.

Having seen both sides live this weekend, the Eagles were the impressive of the two, naturally.

I think the Bloods are just on a downhill slide at the moment and the Eagles will be boosted in confidence with that win.

Eluding to an Eagles win I know, but again, I will wait for the sides to be released before picking a final winner.

Big game this one. West are just about playing for their season. A win to them and they're still in the hunt for top 3. A loss and they'll find it hard to make finals. Another win for the Eagles and it takes them at least a game and a half clear of their nearest rivals for a top 3 spot going in to a 2 week bye.

Parry will be a huge in for the Eagles. The impressive form of Redden has been a bonus of Parry being out for the last 3 weeks and they should make a very good tandem. It is important that they can both go forward and play a role. Tiller may get a chance to fill in for the injured Grieger at Full Back?

There is a possibility that Broadbent might play for the Eagles against West seeing the power did not play him against Melbourne and the power have a bye next week. Because of injuries to the Crows, Knights might be elevated. Rimmo should come in to consideration after a strong game in the reserves.

A little bird whispered to me Collins may well be off back to Melbourne at the end of this season despite a contract , especially if the current form of the team continues ..... hmmm , maybe Mr. Mickan would like to be kept in the loop . Would Collins take any of his favorites with him ..... yes said the birdie ! Interesting :o

If ever Tiller was going to get a call up it was this week with Grieger out injured. Not to be.

I hope they stick with Batley and Lane this week. I'd have Hoban and Allmond miss out from the 23 man squad.

Strong team on paper and an absolute must win match this one.

I'd say if Broadbent wasn't available Tiller might have been in the team.

Hoban to miss for sure.

Not that I'm complaining, but how did we manage to get Pettigrew this week considering he played for Power last week and unlike Tambling wasn't the sub?

Pettigrew has missed a lot of football recently.

Travelling emergency, sub, etc, so Port are entitled to ask for permission for him to play.

I'm pretty sure it's happened many times before?

I can only think of one and that was Tambling, strange decision in my opinion.
