VFL vs. SANFL 2012? But wait, there's more...

According to those at Inside Football magazine's VFL writers, State League representative football could be back next year with SA playing the Vics in Melbourne. But that is only the beginning, apparently the NEAFL and its represented states want in -- especially after Queensland pushed the WAFL to its limits -- as does Tasmania.
Discuss!

This year was supposed to have Vic vs. SA in Melbourne but thanks to the Foxtel Cup it didn't happen. WA played QLD a couple of weeks ago, WA came close to losing. QLD hasn't played SA or Victoria for a long time. Tasmania has only ever taken on QLD as of late, SA's last game against Tassie was 1995 which we lost.
The agreement reached for interstate matches is between three states only -- SA, WA and Vic -- and the others don't really enter into the arguement unless invited.

I think Western Australia used to play Qld when they had the 'bye' in the series. Hence why they played this year. Queensland have been boosted by the inclusion of the NT Thunder and more AFL rookie listed players to select from.
Disappointing that SA v Vic didn't go ahead this year as I would have definitely gone over

No, actually I was going to be the main provider of the trip (I've got company car and don't pay for fuel !!!)
Already got a full car load for the trip that was supposed to happen this year so sorry, no free-loaders for 2012 !!!

Never mind me, I'll find my own way there BP.
I was so keen to go to Victoria this year after we had the "bye" last year. Alas, it wasn't to be. However, if the SANFL still wants to play it's GF after the AFL GF, then I'm not sure if the AFL draw means a longer season again next year but if so then there would be room in the SANFL fixture to have a mid-season hiatus for round-robin state footy, surely?

Ha I wish. None of the previous were FREE trips, we paid for our flights, accom & "entertainment" to Perth but great value for money.

You were one of the free-loaders in the car already Squawk !!!
But, you were allocated the middle seat in the back with Nanks on one side and PhilH on the other, for 8 hours
CK can have the front seat as he is tall and will need to stretch his legs.

Which reminds me. You left your Alleway gimp mask here on your last visit. Some of the stains were hard to get out.
