Round 15 - Panthers v CD @ Hickinbotham - 2.10pm Sun 10/7/11

The Panthers' form has been excellent at home this season and they will be confident of a much improved effort compared to the one they put in against the Bulldogs earlier this season.

Centrals continue to be the league pacesetters and although they won't want to take the Panthers lightly, I think the Bulldogs will win by about 4 goals.

Should be a tough game, South seem to be improving every week and the revolving door at Centrals will continue for another week.

I would expect Paul Thomas to definatly play this week (apparently would have played yesterday if it was a final) so that would probably see Menzel head back to the reserves.

Both Varcoe and O'Hara played reserves yesterday with imho Varcoe being very good, he probably needs a few more games in the reserves though before being promoted the league side. O'Hara was alright but i dont think he did enough to push straight back into the side this week.

Chris Gowans will come back into the side this week that might mean David Haydon will lose his spot in the side.

Also with Callinan injured on the weekend we may see Gunston demoted the Cows this week.

Should be a good tough game im really looking forward to this one.

Dogs to show they are still the best team in comp, will win by 4-5 goals.
They are a machine, no matter how many are out injured Roy just rolls another robot off the conveyor belt that is programmed with the Dogs game style and grit. Get sick of people writing them off, they just keep getting the job done as evidenced by a game against the Eagles that not many gave them hope in.

I believe the panthers will take this one right up to the leagues measuring stick. I reckon the speakers, distance to Noarlunga and the ground announcer should be the least of your concerns

As it's a day game, will the speakers even be out?

Crows have the bye this week so no chance of that

Previous South sides would see a crashing let down after some good performances resulting in a thrashing, this South side has evidenced character and therefore this game is of real interest as to how far we have progressed. Against Norwood only 3 weeks ago our last half was really poor but me thinks that result has added a resolve that now involves a 4 quarter effort. Against the doggies nothing else but 4 quarter effort is required. It's been a long time since a game between these two sides has generated such interest, great for the comp.

And I think playing one-upmanship over supporters of a club who haven't lost to South in years is the least of yours.

Despite the distance I expect to see a good number of Centrals supporters down at "Elizabeth by the sea".

There is some good/better competition for spots in the league team at present for us which is a very welcome change. Myke Cooks report has been withdrawn so will play. McKernan needs to prove fitness after a very solid game against Maric and Miekeljohn otherwise Keegan Brooksby will come back in. Can't see any other changes on form as Saturday against Port was a case of all played well.

South haven't had such a good opportunity to beat Central for some time. But one characteristic the dogs have maintained fairly consistently over the last 12 seasons is not dropping games to lower ranked sides, despite any injury and form issues. So with that in mind I'd expect Central to get up. Not expecting any great spectacle but with half the team under pressure for positions in the side from players returning from injury there is still plenty to play for.

Dunno what I'd enjoy most if South get up in this one.
1) A reality check for a few K9 supporters.
2) Ronny getting the Southerners on a roll and up 'n' running again.
or
3) The Legs sitting on top of the ladder. (Roosters allowing of course)
Oh what the hell, let's go for the trifecta !
;)
Go you Panthers !

Yes, how dare some carry on like they're the reigning premiers and top of the ladder!

Weather forecast for Sunday is cool and breezy. So expect a frozen hurricane down at Noarlunga.
