Both clubs had impressive wins in round 13 and will now be looking at building on that in this clash at Alberton. The Panthers have struggled away from their home ground, and I think this could give the Magpies the edge, and I'll select the home team by 4 goals.

a classic 4 point game & if south are the real deal they have to start winning away from home, not sure they've got to that stage YET, so it's port for mine......if port do make the final 5 will the average attendences rise for finals than in previous years ?

Port by 6 goals. South always have trouble coming down the one-way freeway.
Port have been impressive the last few weeks, cant believe this is the same side that looked like a bunch of rabble against Norwood a month ago. Bamford doing a great job.

IIRC correctly, South has had some good recent results at Alberton, - a few wins and a few matches where they have had a red hot go without taking the chocolates.
Bamford has been very good since he arrived at Alberton, not just this season. Fuller is an old hand though and will be imploring the Panthers to get a win on the road and make it two wins in a row. South are not without their chances in this game, IMHO.

Agreed, not without their chances.
However, I think the Magpies will want to build on the win over Westies, use the game against South to (hopefully) get a 3 point break on the teams out of the 5.

.
Bit of a myth that IMO. Recent results:
2011- Port by 30
2010- Port by 22
2009- Port by 59
2008- South by 3 (The "Jack Cahill" game)
2004-2007- Port Won
Given Port haven't been much good in that time, they aren't results to get too inspired about.

They may give Mackay another week. Every chance of McKernan returning to South I would have thought, given his performance and early benching yesterday.
Got destroyed in ruck last time at Alberton, so he would be handy.

How long do you think until the Magpies lose Banner, Ebert & Maric again, and how much of a hole does it make?
Banner has been bringing his own ball lately, and while Ivan hasn't torn a game apart, he gives Jimmy M a break which is invaluable in itself.

Firstly, Maric. IMO, wont play for Adelaide again. Jacobs well in front of him and so is McKernan.
Ebert, my question is, how does Phillips get a game ahead of him in the Power line up? I told Ebo this on Thursday night at Alberton. IMO, Ebert will not be back in too soon.
Banner. Not sure Primus rates him too highly.

Agree on Maric, but read elsewhere talk of McKernan needing to be dropped, so thought Ivan might be half a desperate chance of another go.
Hope not, Im happier with him (all three mentioned) in our side than out of it.

Agreed. If we qualify for finals, I'd expect all three of them to be playing.
Do we need them in all season so we make the finals, probably.

Banner racks up the possies, but i am not sure he uses the ball well enough to play for the Power. Having said that there are plenty of Power players not getting it or using it. I think Ebo will be with the magpies for the rest of the season. Surjan was a good inclusion for them on the weekend.
South are obviously in good form but dont play well away from home, so i think Port should win by 4 or 5 goals.

Phillips gets pushed off the ball far too easily, struggles to stick a tackle and is a crumber at best, nothing more.No chance of taking a mark like Ebert can.
I'm not sure why we picked him up when we have Gray, Rodan, Ebert, Hitchcock, Davenport and Banner on our list. ( I dont rate a couple of those so be mindful of that when picking my comments apart!!

)

If Phillips, Gray, Rodan, Ebert, Hitchcock, Davenport and Banner lined up in a foot race, who would win?
Just to keep on topic i'll go Port over a fast finishing South by 15 points.

To keep on topic, I agree.
Probably Phillips, but allow them to use their body...

That would be great for the SANFL because the Power supporters would then jump on board looking for a good game to watch, and get it.
Cheers
