Round 13 - West v Port @ Richmond - 2.10pm Sat 25/6/11

West's form has been inconsistent of late, and they will need to play their best footy against the Magpies, who showed earlier in the season that they are capable of upsetting the Bloods. Port has played some reasonable footy since being thrashed by Norwood some weeks back, and they will fancy themselves a chance of getting the 2 points, but I think West at home, can win a close one by 2 goals.

If West are serious about finishing in the top 3 at the end of the minor round they have to win this one.

At home i think they will by 21 points.

A win for the magpies could potentially land them in the top 5 after the weekends games

They beat North by 33 points the week before and played without a batch of their starters yesterday, Jimmy.

With 3 of their best players back, and playing at home, West by 22pts.

Finals sides bounce back from results like last week. Selection was obviously tough last week but we must get put a premium on leg speed this week. The talls did not do enough last week to all get a run this week. Lobbe would be the one dropped for me. Will Fergie get up for this week?

Important we bounce back with a win here and again assert our home ground dominance. Getting back to somewhere near our full strength side will help with Birss, Mcreadie & especially Morris back in. Should get the job done and help to kill off any chance of Port playing finals.

I doubt a win this weekend will kill of our chances.. only half a game behind 5th and we still have glenelg & sturt to play twice, south at alberton again and nort.. not too bad a run home for the magpies there..

Schmidt and Pettigrew dropped by the crows and power should really help strengthen our side to beat port by 5 goals tomorrow.
