From Adelaide Now.
NORWOOD SANFL player and former Crow Luke Jericho was caught out this week complaining on Facebook about having to play football on a public holiday.
Clearly burned off about not getting a day off the Queen's Birthday, Luke's status read: "Dear SANFL, thanks for giving me no long weekend this year".
The first to comment on his whinge was none other than his coach, Nathan Bassett, with this bite back: "And this is your sixth game this year. HTFU".
Exhibit A of why it sucks having your coach as a Facebook friend. And for those trying to figure out what HTFU means: Harden The F - - - Up. Well, you get the rest!

Don't blame him, having to play on the only day of a 3 day weekend where there's work the next day is ridiculous to say the least.

What a sook. He wouldn't get a 'long' weekend no matter what day the game was on. FWIW, the Monday works out well, means you actually get a Sat and Sun off for a change. Sharp as a bowling ball, that boy is.

Yes it's pretty pathetic and dumb of him. I've worked in jobs where you work every public holiday bar two, think of the Police, ambos, firefighters, nurses, doctors and hospitality industry. I'm sure Bass will make him work that bit harder on the track.

Fancy that. A facebook junkie grizzling about having an engagement in Real Life (tm).
If he wasn't playing football, he only would have wasted his long weekend by regaling his "friends" with the details of his breakfast menu and the consistency of the subsequent motion it produced.

Bit harsh on Jericho he is only saying what most people think. I bet if you did a secret poll with all league footballers that less than 20% like playing on a holiday Monday. Most players i know hate it. I know as a spectator i hate it just as much

Yeah AD would be asking him for a 'please explain' for bringing the game into disrepute!

From Adelaide Confidential (not Local Footy SA)
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertain ... 6080908829Bassett hounds old team-mate Luke Jericho to harden up(Bassett's even wearing a HTFU shirt and cap in the photo)
Good to see they both have a sense of humour about it all
NORWOOD footy coach Nathan Bassett's quest to toughen up star utility Luke Jericho appears to be working.
"Yeah, he did make some tackles on the weekend . . . he's not renowned for his tackling and he made a couple so that's a good thing," Nathan says.
Luke has been copping a bit of stick lately after it was revealed that he wasn't overjoyed about having to play against Glenelg on the Queen's Birthday public holiday.....
"Luke's taken it well, he even wore a HTFU cap to training on Monday." .....
The good news for Luke is that with a game tonight and a bye next weekend, he will have two weekends to make up for his "sacrifice", although Nathan may have other ideas."
