This is my response to his dribble on the Adelaide Now site

Put a sock in it Mr Rucci the SANFL burger tastes better my friend the AFL burger has now become a bland and tasteless product and the REAL FOOTY consumers are now not eating this sanitised rubbish.

I suggest you stop pushing the PAFC and AFL barrow and do some real investigative journalism and find out out where every CENT of the Millions Dollars handed over to the the PAFC has disappeared to.

SANFL = TASTY BURGERS !

I have posted a reply, not under my SAFooty name, so we'll see how we go.
Typical 6 v 1 pro the article so far

To be honest, didn't find the article as bad as others, thought there was some reasonable though-provoking points made, albeit from the one side again. Also, he again selectively quotes Les Stevens. Someone else posted more of the Steven's article on AdelaideNow last week, quoting various figures that Rucci conveniently ignores. Perhaps that could be posted here if anyone has a copy, believe it has been removed from the CDFC website?

Interesting that the following is provided on submission of a comment to AdelaideNow:

"Please note that we are not able to publish all the comments that we receive, and that we may edit some comments to ensure their suitability for publishing.

Feedback will be rejected if it does not add to a debate, or is a purely personal attack, or is offensive, repetitious, illegal or meaningless, or contains clear errors of fact.

Although we try to run feedback just as it is received, we reserve the right to edit or delete any and all material."

If only this test was applied to the articles.......my comment:

Are we serving the same tripe ?

Have to dash now, promised the kids lunch at Hungry Jacks.........Elizabeth :)

What about his last line what a ******* antagonistic bastard

"But there is no doubt Les Stevens will never again publicly say the burgers are better at the Elizabeth Hungry Jack's."

Once again Rucci 'YOU ARE WRONG' you obviously weren't at Grand Central saturday night.

Makes me laugh too, especially with some of the garbage they allow through, and then obviously censore reasonable comment.

if your a true SANFL fan and really want to join in the fight for our league the best way for everyone to start is by stop buying the Advertiser and hurt their campaign against the SANFL.

.....did Les say sorry for the letter, or did he say he was was sorry that Andy was offended by the letter..... ;)

.....given how lazy the SANFL clubs are I'm surprised he even bothered writing it.......

Just posted this to Adelaide Now. Doubt it will be uploaded.

"Again I fail to see any problem with Stevens' open letter, he has every right to put his views forward and defend his club and the SANFL against malicious and unfair attacks. The SANFL does provide a great alternative to an AFL that is very expensive for some people, a day at a local SANFL ground is alot more accessible for a young family. I'm 41, I grew up with the SANFL, following Sturt so for me the SANFL is REAL footy, hence a valid comment by Stevens. That others with their own agendas get upset by this statement shows their own frailties.
I don't mind if the SANFL sell off both licenses so Crows and Port have their independence, my main concern is that the SANFL maintain and get more independence from the AFL's constant undermining of our combined futures.
I will always be a Sturt member and do what I can to help their viability, I'll only ever wear one scarf, that of The Mighty Double Blues."

This is the quote made by Les Stevens

"""The SANFL Competition has football [that] is more entertaining then some of the AFL games.""

Just a straight forward comment which happens to be absolutely spot on

Both the AFL + SANFL are magnificent games to watch

End of story

Not the best anology to use . HJ's and Maccas are in competition yet his point is as mentioned below there should not be competition between SANFL &AFL hence his "Real Footy " barb. How funny and how stupid for someone to write this yet shoot there whole shallow arguement in the foot by using extremely competitive businesses. Not sure about flipping burgers but he has flipped his lid !

THERE are nine Hungry Jack's outlets. These are the SANFL clubs.

THERE are two McDonald's franchises. These are the Crows and the Power.

For 20 years - despite owning and taking the cash from its McDonald's franchises at West Lakes and Alberton - the SANFL clubs have maintained their burgers are better. Remember that "Real Footy" marketing campaign from the SANFL that implied the suburban game was true and the AFL game was fake?

You would have thought the SANFL clubs had no financial interest in the AFL brand in Adelaide for the way they worked against the Crows and Power - and still took the money from them.

This was supposed to end this year when the SANFL, AFL, Crows and Power agreed on a joint marketing campaign to get more people to AAMI Stadium, so that there was more money in SA football, so the Crows and Power could keep SA football's image strong on the national stage and push more money in the SANFL coffers for South Australian football.

The whole article has holes in it.

He keeps banging on about SANFL clubs taking money from the AFL clubs buut then says this :
