I think some will. The SANFL is also the Magpies. However, don't trust Rucci if he asks for some stickers.

We should have known, even back then I thought ‘Uncle Bruce’ and his mates looked shifty.

I have no issue with both AFC & PAFC having a reserves team - only NOT in the SANFL. If the AFL believe that this is best, then they need to reinvent the AFL Reserves Competition IMHO.

The SANFL commissioners have yet to come out publicly & RULE OUT this proposition - the print media in this city (controlled by the very same News Limited that just paid $1.25 million for TV Rights & lead by Rucci) are (I believe) deliberately undermining the SANFL on this & other issues.

Also, I believe that John Olson is the WRONG person to be running the SANFL - I do not believe that he has the experience or the understanding required to LEAD the organisation but more importantly, the 'nuts' to stand up to Demetriou & those over the border, particularly that they will now want a significant say in what happens @ Port Power - as they are investing so much money in it.

I would like to see the SANFL sell back the licenses to the 2 AFL clubs but KEEP a 25% share in both (1 board member also). That 25% of eventual profits, should be split 2% to each SANFL club & 7% to the 'coffers' of the SANFL as a 'development fund' within the state.

One thing it WILL do is show Demetriou & the AFL that We care what happens to the SANFL.

The cold hard facts are unfortunately the big brother AFL has SA exactly where it wants. It will take back the Powers licence now that it is paying their way - make no doubt about that. The licence is worth nothing so the SANFL have nothing to sell. No entity would buy it at the moment- worthless. The Crows are heading the same way unfortunately. Once the AFL have the Power licence don't be surprised to see them play games at Adelaide Oval as early as next year. This makes commercial sense. Then the Crows will be left to wallow by themselves at AAMI and run at losses by themselves and lose even more value. This further will undermine the SANFL.

It really is amazing that something like footy in this state where it is controlled by one body can actually get itself into the funding and debt situation it now finds itself in. Maxxy Basheer must be turning in his grave. All the good work he did has been undone by the small mindedness and pig headedness of the current leadership who refuse to budge from their boys club mentality. For all of us that love our local footy these boof heads need to be replaced. They have proven they have no business accumen - now at least Mr Wicker and co should show some integrity and step aside so that competancy and integrity with no self interest can be restored. I like many, have grave concerns that my grand children will not see football as we know it here if this does not happen and soon. If they can't see that then god help us all - small minded state we are.

Given that the SANFL have assets of about $150 million and given that you correctly say the Power licence is worthless and given that the AFL need the Adelaide Oval agreement to work, would you give specific details of what the SANFL have done to be called small-minded, pig-headed and having no business acumen?

Personally, I don't believe the licenses are worth nothing. A license goes to a team which in turn is a component of the AFL, which negotiated broadcasting rights based on the amount of competing teams.
I might be wrong but I vaguely recall they had an intangible value on the SANFL balance sheet of about $6mill.

Just find it strange to protest against something that hasnt been announced, regardless of the likelyhood of it happening.

For the record I want no change to the SANFL comp.

Thats the point. Reduction salary caps ,17's 19's gone and the real threat of more dilution of the comp , enough is enough.
