Trying to do the results of this weeks buns for crowds and can't find an official attendance figure (or any figure for that matter) for the Sturt v Glenelg game.

Tried the SANFL, Adelaide Now, Sturt and Glenelg sites to no avail.

Any help will be much appreciated.

At some point in the week I do get the official attendence updates from the SANFL so I will advise then.

I'd be shocked if it was over 2000

Similar crowd at Sturt v Eagles back in Rd 3 ... I would say more around the 2,900 - 3,200 mark.

Yeah, I was there as well and would suggest it felt like a 2,500 - 2,700 kind of crowd.

I thought the figure was in the Sunday Mail on the results summary page.

Mind you, they also had Sturt's injuries as "Nil", so I wouldn't be inclined to put much faith in their crowd figures...

The one thing I have noticed with games at Adelaide Oval this year, compared to all other games at other SANFL venues, is that there has been no SANFL staff, who are the people myslef and PhilH can always reliably get crowd figures from on game days.

Obviously it is SACA people who run and facilitate game day happenings at Adelaide Oval and they don't seem to make themselves as available to speak to as the SANFL staff.

Just checked my copy of the sunday mail and it wasn't there. Did notice the NIL injuries though.

In general, maybe a little down (I'm sure PhilH can shed more light) but I think the point PhilH made mention in here (or another thread) is that when there is a Norwood v Port game on a couple of kms up the road at the Parade, that will take away a lot of neutral fans who would normally head along to AO.

Hard to say, although I think most people would have expected a higher crowd.

It was the lowest Sturt-Glenelg crowd since 2008, although in R14, 2007 at Adelaide Oval, Glenelg vs Sturt only drew a crowd of 3360 (in fine weather from memory, but this was a day game - the day Dougie kicked 7 for us.)

I'm amazed by that. Thought Sturt's numbers in particular were quite down.

Mind you, you'd have thought it was a big crowd with the way the Members bar's taps ran out and had only a few people serving a thirsty horde at the start of the last quarter. $6.50 for a light beer?? Catering there would want to improve dramatically if and when they get AFL.

Ahh, the subtle annoyance of Adelaide Oval catering....

I put off getting a beer at half time due to the queue snaking out from the front of the scoreboard bar and winding down the hill - which still hadn't dissipated by the start of the third. Though with the volume of the cr@p being pumped through the scoreboard's speakers I'm glad I didn't hang around on the hill for a beer during the break.

Wandered south along the outer wing in search of an open bar and failed completely; all bars here were closed and had signs directing would-be drinkers to the scoreboard bar.

Back on the hill for the second half, and I dashed to the bar right on the siren to end the third. Despite now being able to waltz right up to the window, I still had to wait: one of the old farts was blissfully conversing with a punter instead of serving, while the other one was moving as swiftly as a recently exhumed corpse.

I might not have minded paying $6.60 for a plastic cup if it had been filled with Old Southwark Stout, but for some reason this is no longer served at the scoreboard bar.

HEAR! HEAR!
Why wasn't the Glenelg/Sturt game played on Sunday ?
Thanks to 'The Good Guys' rivalry round free tickets I only got to see the Norwood/Port, West/Eagles and Central/South
games over the weekend. Who's responsible for this travesty of justice? I demand to see all 4 games every weekend !
Don't they realise that far too much football is barely enough? Heads must roll! Don't they realise the irreparable damage
this does to family life? I was nearly forced to spend an entire day with Fort Battle-Axe!
Lift your games gentlemen! It's just not good enough !!!

Wait 'til Keka hears about THIS !
