Round 9 - West v Norwood @ Richmond - 7.40pm Fri 27/5/11

The Redlegs found form against a disappointing Port side in round 8, but their task against West under lights will be a much tougher assignment. The Bloods will want to atone for a heartbreaking last minute loss against the Eagles, and I think they can just get the points in a close one, by 7 points.

Big game in the race for the top 3.

AFL selections will have a massive impact for both sides.

If they were putting last weekends sides on the field i think Norwood by 10 points.

Again, night game under lights gives a MASSIVE home-ground advantage, West by 24 points.

Maybe not against a side far more used to playing under lights than most.

It didnt help Central when we played you.

imho West are a 5-7 goal better side underlights at Richmond.

Will be interesting to see what, if any, "Eagleton" factor there is.

Does the Bald one turn up and have a blinder against his old club?
Do the Westies faithful make it their mission to ensure he endures a miserable night of it from the crowd?

He hasn't been in his greatest form in recent weeks, so maybe he will set himself for a happy homecoming iced with one goal in each quarter? Here's hoping so ;)

Norwood to be the first visiting side to win underlights at Richmond.

Ferguson will miss again, i don't think he is 'ill'.

Silvester is a chance to miss and this will rob us of any tall defenders. A good week to be a tall Norwood forward this week.

We have finally this year got a decent number of talls and not reliant upon afl players in this department and now we have a real problem of getting them on the park i just hope it doesn't last long.

Norwood by 4 goals.

Trouble is, it seems each time someone says the match will be a beauty, it's usually a fizzer :)

That's my feeling, all the media are suggesting Walker will get a recall so I think Westies will win. For me Norwood are at least a 10 goal better side with Walker in the team. Not only does he kick a bag each week, he free's up others and makes us play more direct. If Walker doesn't line up then I expect Westies to win fairly easily.

Depends on westies spine - ?

Fergusson, Silverster, Hartlett, Moran, - Will all of these play or is it possible none of them?
Will Schmidt play with the crows this week and will Brad fisher come up?; Pettigrew for the Power? Will brad fisher surprise and come back early?

Team selection and availability of players will be a huge factor in this game for both sides, but for west, the size of these players makes a huge difference to their structures.

Norwood play lots of night footy, so I dont see the usual westies advantage this week but I cant wait for the game all the same
