I know South supporters will be disappointed but once again this year this side has not been disgraced and they were last time these teams met. They hung in there and from what I have seen always have a go .A slow and gradual process but I think South fans will have something to really cheer about in a couple of years .
As for Centrals , well probably another solid effort without starring and being too flashy . What can you say just a great side and well coached .How did Thomas go for Central tonight ?

Just got home from Noarlunga, Great game of footy, and actually the weather was quite good,

Centrals with a pretty even spread of good players, and South never gave in, was really impressed with the African lads game, showed massive potential.

Got the win and the 2 points nothing more.

Weather was perfect apart from the occasional shower.

Meal in the clubrooms was fantastic and beer prices were also good in Jimmy Deans

PA system was ok

Lighting was a tad dissapointing by the end of the game i didnt even try and bother to see what was happening on the outer wing.

The net behind the goals was all good but for **** sake paint the poles holding it up black or something looked like there was 8 posts out there.

Lee Spurr with a groin injury also disapointing.

Also the African South Adelaide player dominated will be drafted at the end of the year.

No idea....it was too f***ing dark to tell......and if your going to have people park in the ground then maybe open more than one bloody exit gate at the end.....on a scale of 1 to 10 on the enjoyment meter I'd rate that about 0.3

Get to Noarlunga, and see that Noarlunga's 4 main light towers are identical to City Mazda Stadium's (but set further back), so my first reaction was as if they're going to sufficiently light up the ground. However, the two smaller sets of lights on the wings complement the main towers well and the ground was very well lit up.

Settle in for the 3rd quarter of the reserves and it got dark very quickly! We saw why at three quarter time as a huge thunderstorm set upon Noarlunga Oval with two of the biggest lightning bolts I've ever seen down the northern end of the ground (no wonder the reserves went goalless kicking to that end that quarter).

Now for the main game

South won the toss and kicked with the 7 goal cyclone down the southern end of the ground. They jumped out of the blocks kicking the first two goals of the match before we settled and even kicked a goal into the breeze. At quarter time, we were only down by 15 points, which going into the breeze was as good as being in the lead at that stage of the game. The second quarter we took full advantage of the breeze, kicking 7 goals. However, our defence wasn't crash hot, allowing South to kick 3 into the breeze. Still, an 11 point lead at half time was a good lead.

The key to this match was third quarter. It was a dour struggle, and this played right into Centrals hands. Amazingly South, despite having the 7 goal cyclone, kicked a pathetic 0.3, while we kicked 1.2 to take a 17 point lead heading into 3 quarter time, a vital lead seeing as we were coming home with the cyclone.

Once again we let South kick 3 relatively easy goals, but we showed South how to use a breeze finishing the game with 6 goals to end up with a runaway 36 point win, with debutant Jack Hannath kicking his first career goal on the final siren.

So not only do we extend our winning streak at Noarlunga to a club-record 5 and end South's undefeated run at night at Noarlunga, we end up with a handy 1 game break on top of the ladder heading into next week's game against North.

I think the weather saved us from most of the entertainment bar a cat choking on a furball at the start of each quarter and music after each goal (but it was at a reasonable volume and no different to what the Crows do now). Was funny though that the club decided to wait until the middle of the thundestorm in the last quarter of the reserves to cover the speakers.

As for seeing anything on the outer wing, it's just as bad during day games there so don't think we can blame the lights for that.

south definately had a crack & never gave in however the composure & class factor are miles apart & i must admit at half time while i didn't think it really possible i thought if they get 4 or 5 up with the breeze they'd be a silly chance, this didn't happen & central coasted to another victory, i thought thomas & obst were good, while for south i thought horne & carey were their best

We stood on the hill next to the beer van and bbq where most the Central supporters were, generally i have pretty good vision and i could not pick any players out when the ball was on the outer side.

My mate parked his car in the North Eastern Pocket and when we went back there after the game the lights looked sensational and well lit all over the ground.

It may have just been where we were standing but imho was slightly dissapointing.

Apart from that i really enjoyed Noarlunga Oval.

Pretty sure Irra doesn't turn 18 till after eligibility date next year, so South may keep him an extra season.
