Very good for the Bloods, there shaping up as the real deal for a top 3 spot.

Tough 2 games to come but have continued their undefeated record under lights at Richmond.

Sounds like they have a few injuries so there depth maybe tested their reserves are ordinary to say the least as well.

well done to west who managed to stay in the game early on. Glenelg should have really had a bigger lead but failed to capitalise and once westies started to build momentum they were like a runaway train.

we are like blackpool of the EPL

I would like to thank Todd Grima for the victory tonight. One of the silliest things I have seen on the footy field and boy didn't it change the game.

I would think he would be looking at about 2-3. Maybe more because I don't think he has a great record either.

Thanks for the updates Phil ,this my favourite

3rd Quarter:

The 2nd half underway, neither side yet to score as yet...

2:00 minutes in

Glenelg - 5.7 = 37

West - 4.5 = 29

Lucky they didn't score as yet otherwise .................ah never mind.

Great win by the team. Wasn't allowed to play our normal game style by Glenelg (or the umpires who for the first half thought there was only one team out there) and I was a little worried half way through the second quarter. For me, debutant Sam Ezard changed the game in the second half with his run and aggression at Jordan McMahon who did as he pleased in the first half. He really closed down his dominace in the second half. It was great to see him kick his first goal through sheer hard work and then in the last quarter give off the handball to his brother for another goal. Silvestor was also fantastic in defence. Ferg was also at his normal brilliant best.

More injuries tonight but hopefully we will get Piasente and Ben Fisher back next week. Fielke report hopefully will get thrown out as there was nothing in it...he was just going for the ball.

Credit to the Glenelg supporters, they turned up in big numbers and made the night a good atmosphere.

Not mentioned on radio but it was quite windy on the outer side.

One down in our three big weeks, two to go.

Go You Bloods!!!

A good comp the SANFL with players and coaches seemingly being able to identify this yet AFL clubs don't.
I think his game has well and truly been sorted out by most SANFL clubs.

Easily westies best win under Collins. West teams of years past would have rolled over after the Bays got the first goal of the last quarter to close the margin to within a kick, especially with no bench.

For mine, Daniel Caire one of the most under rated players in the league,
BOG for mine, Steve Morris outstanding game also.

Great atmosphere, great game. Go bloods

Glenelg know what its like to lose to teams with no bench. ;)

Agree Blood Bath, Caire is very under rated in the SANFL for a Best And Fairest winner. Stevie Morris just doesnt stop running, is super quick and gutsy as all hell. Fort Caruso kept us in the game in the first half.

The crowd were very vocal in supporting the team after the game too....it was fantastic to hear.

All things being equal , West should finish top 3 and I reckon can make the GF . A great improvement, yet I sense one that has been managed and not a "fluke ".On the other hand I do feel all is not right at the Bay ?

it was a great game that had intensity & also with plenty of turnovers in the first half & glenelg held the ascendancy & should have been further in front bar for some innacurate kicking including at least 3 out on the full, you could see west was getting on top during the third term & obviously glenelg was steamrolled in the last although i wasn't impressed with the give up attitude the bay players showed after macreadie took that screamer in the goalsquare & goaled, this attitude was emphasised when ty allen had the ball around the half back line & took a long time to have his kick when called to 'play on' & his raising his arms outstretched ''saying well i had nothing to kick too''

both reports were an absolute joke

todd grima's was a fractionally late bump after a free was paid to another player & all it should have been was a 25 metre penalty at worst

the west player reported whose name escapes me (as i left the budget in the car) was even worse, yes it was a free for in the back as he landed on the bay player who was first to the ball but to report him for that was a disgrace

the umpiring while it didn't favour either team was disgraceful, they had no feel for the game, at one stage i witnessed one of the best marks i've seen in a long long time only for kirkby to be given a free, yes it was probably there but you must have a feel for the game, players from both sides continually looked at the umpire to see which way the free would be awarded to.........tony dey is not up to it so why do they persist with him ? frank manikas made puzzling decisions as well & the much MALinged curtis deboy was very much less conspicuous so i'd say he did ok

cameron hitchcock, i bit my lip after the port game (he got in the best players at the club & kicked 3 goals out of 9 BUT he lost every 50/50 contest that day) he is a very soft player who yes kicks goals but when a ball is on the line he pulls out & hopes the opponent makes a blue, it was very evident in the last term when the ball came out toward him on centrewing & he stopped dead & let the west player who attacked the ball gain possession of it & sent it back into attack

there maybe kids in the team but there is no 'mojo' no run, no taking risks etc etc & unless there is a shakeup at the bay we'll be very lucky to make the 5 & wouldn't do any damage if we did

westies best players i thought were (in no particular order) caire, the caruso bros, morris, willits & macreadie

well done westies, way too good after half time

Only 6 games in HP, anything could happen. Just want to keep the lid on it and dont get too far ahead of ourselves. We did against Port and look what happened.
