Round 7 - North v Norwood @ Prospect - 2.10pm Sat 14/5/11

The Redlegs' recent form will be a concern to their coach who will be hoping to notch up a victory against a North Adelaide side that looks to have forgotten how to win.

Norwood should get the 2 points as they appear to have a better balanced side than the Roosters, however an upset by North on their home ground wouldn't totally surprise.

My tip: Norwood by 14 points

Tell me this isnt true North fans. Was told be a senior North player that the game was moved from AO to Prospect because the president was worried about Norths poor form and their ability to attract a decent crowd.

I'm actually unclear about why the game was moved. Would have liked to see North play at the 'new' Adelaide Oval under lights.

Was announced about 2 or 3 weeks ago so not sure that their form was THE reason?

Has something too do with the stand being rebuilt at Prospect. The thoughts were the ground would be unavailable. That has changed so, seeing as though it's a North home game, it's being played at Prospect. Seems to have upset some Norwood supporters.

Not upset with venue change. Dont mind going to prospect and definately prefer saturday game as it now gives me an excuse not to take my son to the gold coast v cows game.

Dunno, North might win this one, you see, it's soooo hard for Norwood, as they struggle year after year providing players to The AFL, not like other clubs. ;)

Times have changed
2 seasons ago
NA played ugly
NW played pretty
Now swap the A + W in the teams for a current assessment

You can always rely upon a Central supporter for a useless comment.

Very very harsh Mal. For 48 of the past 50 years North have played very very attractive albeit erratic football. Play ugly for 2 years and that is all you can refer to. Reminds me a lot of the one goat one lousy goat joke.

The 3 teams I support now almost replicate themselves for game plans
Norwood
St Kilda
St George

No, you can always rely on a Central supporter to cut & paste a useless comment made by a Norwood supporter! :D

Gee it will be a boring game. We have only scored over 65pts once this season.
I will take a goal win though

Half true - the problem with AO is that the hosting club needs 4000 minimum crowd just to break even after catering and match costs etc are deducted. Clubs make more $$$ at their own home grounds where they retain all the catering / bar $$$.

You would think North vs. Nwd would get a decent crowd - always seems to in the past at either Nwd or Prospect but you also have to factor in weather etc plus form. Whilst we are on "form", the North "bandwagon" got sold at the end of 2008 and is not looking likely to come back in the foreseeable future so our crowd numbers have dropped off!

Re AO - with the upgrade it will well be well beyond SANFL teams in the future to play games their as the Govt will need to grab as much as they can to recover cost associated with the upgrade so you can imagine how much the costs will be just to open the ground and the concessions.

Also playing at a big stadium 50,000 seater (as it is with AAMI now), how much atmopshere do the grounds lack with a small crowd. Even 10,000 crowd at a finals double header looks and sounds like the game is played in a empty stadium.

Just wait until the Foxtel Cup "blockbuster" between North and Labrador at AAMI on the 21st of May. Being played after an AFL game and kicking off at 5.10 - you would be lucky if there are 500 there!
