Round 7 - Centrals v WWT @ Elizabeth - 2.10pm Sat 14/5/11

Two of the form clubs clash this week in what will hopefully be one of the games of the season. The Bulldogs form has certainly picked up since early in the season, however they won't want to take WWT lightly. I think Centrals will win but it wouldn't surprise me if the Eagles are very competitive for 3 quarters.
My tip: Centrals by 21 points.

Should be a cracker, will be interesting to see Centrals selections this week.
Could possibly have any of Symes, Henderson or Gunston back from the Crows this week.
Apart from them the only changes i could possibly see Lairdy making Saturdays side is James Gowans in for Adam Cullen and Chad O'Sullivan in for Luke Habel.
We may also see Cameron Milne sent back to the ressies for a week and Jack Hannath given his league debut. Centrals were killed in both the hitouts and clearances against Sturt. While Milne has been good and works extremly hard around the ground i think Hannath is probably a better tap ruckmen and has played pretty well in the ressies.

I can't see that happening.

Why so? Milne seems to have minimal impact in games and Hannath is a good young player. Why not switch it up?

While he hasn't set the world on fire, every game he's played this year he's gotten slightly better for us. The best match he played for us was against Glenelg. I doubt Roy would drop him just because he had a so-so match (according to reports) against Sturt.

Whilst I agree with your points on Milne AK, I think the other thing to consider is that the form Jack Hannath has shown in the 2's on a regular basis now is almost forcing his selection IMO.
Last week against the Bays he (Hannath) was BOG with 20 odd disposal and 51 hitouts, this week at Unley, he had another 20 odd posessions and at least 30 hitouts from memory.
I think Milne might find himself in the 2's at some stage for Hannath if Jack keeps up the good form in the 2's, not sure when that will be, but I think Hannath will debut this year.

Very true and in a way i hope he doesnt get dropped, he has worked his ass off to get back to where he came from and he is improving each week imho. His a great lad and very passionate about the club (according to his dad who i had a chat with at the Glenelg game)
But at the 1/4 time huddle on the weekend Lairdy was very scathing of the big men and made it loud and clear he wasnt happy about the lack of hitouts and lack of clearances and at one point said 'its been a consistent problem'
Milne has had a very tough 3 weeks including playing a full quarter on the wing. Wouldnt be surprised to see Lairdy bring in a fresh tap ruckmen in Hannath especially on the bigger Elizabeth Oval.
Also Hannath has played consistent good football since the start of the season.

A very tough game .I hope Grocke is back from injuries .From todays AFL game would be surprised if Vince is still with the Eagles.

Yeah you would think there would HAVE to be changes to the greatest list in the Crows history, it could be the double whammy for the Eagles im pretty confident the Dogs will see at least one of Henderson, Gunston or Symes back in the red white and blue.

Grocke and Hentschel will hopefully be available. Symmons would have to be an out with his shoulder injury. Vince likely to be with the Crows.
I see Geddes got in the best in the reserves. Was that his first game back? Would love to see him back in the team in the coming weeks.

Good to hear he's had a few games. Shouldn't be far away at all then.

We should win this because....................."central are better at alluring/bribing/overpaying/sniffing out/bringing home afl rejects that have won them many flags; healy, thomas, gowans, gowans, schell, mccabe, callinan, cochrane, steinberner et al."
that's why.

Should be a fantastic match.
Will wait to see who Centurion tips before making my prediction - he is on fire with both selecting the winning team and the margin in our matches!
Maybe Central by
9 points, Centurion?

Or Central by 27 points because 2+7 = 9
