Final round in order of impact to the top two:

Central District v Sturt
Elizabeth Oval, Sat 07/05/11 11:40AM

South Adelaide v West Adelaide
Noarlunga Oval, Sat 07/05/11 11:40AM

North Adelaide v Glenelg
Prospect Oval, Sat 07/05/11 11:40AM

Port Adelaide Magpies v W/WT Eagles
Alberton Oval, Sat 07/05/11 11:40AM

The battle has come down to Sturt and West. Even if either of them somehow lose to the cellar dwellers, Glenelg still has to win by a sizable margin against North, which is totally unlikely.

Below is a comparison chart with projected percentages. This assumption is made that both Sturt and West win their matches against Centrals and South respectively. So if Sturt beat Centrals 120-50, they finish with a percentage of 58.70%, and if West beat South 130-70, they finish with a percentage of 57.78% and therefore wouldn't make the final.

So West have to win by at least a goal more than Glenelg do to leap frog them?

Good comp. Seen a few games this year, pity the season doesnt go full length, would like to see how much improvement the teams have done when they play each other again.

My cousin plays for Sturt and I watched them when they played south in a trial and then in round 1. South beat Sturt by 16ish goals in the trial and then Sturt won the Rd 1 fixture very comfortably.

College football will make the last round a nonsense. You can throw the form book out of the window. NAFC have already said it will be a totally different team out there this week.

Hang on a sec Scott, that's not quite right. In the highly unlikely event of Sturt and West both losing, all Glenelg has to do is win; it doesn't matter by how much as they'll be a game in front of the other two.

Sorry my choice of wording was absoltuely awful - by " both somehow lose" i meant individually lose. But you're correct if both lose their matches then all glenelg needs to do is win.

Sturt won by about 30 points. We won by about the same. Sturt go through by .2% or something like that.

Grand Final this week is between Sturt and North, played as the curtain raiser to the Adel v Gold Coast game. Sturt players have had the chance to play on Adelaide Oval and also AAMI.
