Round 6 - WWT v Port @ Woodville - 2.10pm Sat 7/5/11

Postby GWW » Sun May 01, 2011 8:54 pm

Both clubs had impressive wins in round 5, and will be looking at building on this with another victory.

The Magpies have been inconsistent this year, and will need to play 4 quarters of football to have any chance against the Eagles who have slowly picked up their form and look to be a legitimate final 3 contender.

My tip: Eagles by 28 points

Possible inclusions for the Eagles from injury Tiller, Parry, Schulz? Symmons, Goldsworthy, Batley, Von Bertouch (4 goals) all amongst the best in the reserves would be a chance?

Petrenko and Vince would have to be a chance at being called up to the Crows and Hentschel doubtful with injury.

If Petrenko gets called up I wouldn't mind seeing Batley included. He has plenty of pace and will make his debut at some stage this year.

Looking forward to this one. Port would be one of the teams competing for a top 5/top 3 spot with us so important to get an early break on them.

Just btw, what a bizarre reserves game it was .. If there was no scoreboard attendant you would have thought the Eagles won by 8 goals.

I remember hearing on LifeFM about a pretty severe head clash with an Eagles and Norwood reserves player? Any update on what happened and if these guys are okay?

Christian Grocke was the Eagles player involved, saw him at half time of the league game up and about, believe he had stitches and tipping he would have had a pretty sore head. Was a big hit, think the only 2 people in the ground that didnt see it comming were the two boys involved.
Trust the process.

Memo
Port Adelaide Football Club [the 1870 team]
He is
28 years old
approximately 87 kilos
188 tall
If selected will be playing his 174th SANFL game
He is arguably WWT best current player
He is a great mark for his size
Has great skills
Is versatile enough to play in a variety of positions
If he is allowed to play the loose man in defence, without a direct oppponent, he is very very likely to dominate
He is a great player man to man
An even greater player when unmanned

WWTFC best ever player I would go as far as saying.

Obviously not including AFL players (like Pavlich) or the clubs who formed the merger.

whats going on with ports taylor.
thought he would have been pushing for an A grade game by now.
heard a few weeks ago was told to work a lot harder on game day then went out and got about 40 touches, then nothing.
the local club he played for (eastern park) have said he's asked for a clearance to play in a country league somewhere.
