Good Afternoon everyone and welcome to Prospect Oval.

This afternoon its a critcial Round 3 SANFL clash between North & Port

With other results North Adelaide are now the sole winless team in the competition and looking to avoid their first 0-3 start since their 1 win season back in 2003.

For the Magpies its about winning two in a row something they have not done since 2009.


With no radio broadcast possible due to Telstra being unable to install a radio phone line Phil Aspinall & myself (Phil Herden) are going to try something different to plug the gap .... a two man live blog.

Our aim is to convey as much info from the afternoon as we can as quickly as we can.

Its something we have not tried before BUT you the members of SAfooty.net, "the most passionate fans around" deserve some coverage so lets see how it goes.

Feel free to join us in the blog, ask questions, count our typos, we would love your input.

Very shortly we will have ground conditions, final team line ups and other results in other grades.

An exciting game in the reserves, the Roosters controlled most of the game before the Magpies mounted a last quarter comeback.

In the end, North held on for a close win, well done Roosters...

Glorious day ... Phil & I are up the back of the main grandstand just next to the Port coaches box.

Crowd as they say is building .. if I had to pick probably 2,500 at the moment. Hopefully gets to about 3K

The ground is in state of reconstruction
The OLD grandstnd is out of action for the rennovations with fencing coming out about 5m towards the ground ... thus the hod dog man and BBQ have moved to under the old scorers box.

As for a tip its a CONNUNDRUM

On fiveaa last Sunday night I tipped North as I thought they were better than a 0-3 side...

... however if they win that leaves the Eagles in last place.

So based on that I will stick with my prediction and say North

kicks insider 50 VERY DODGY mark paid to Butcher who dropped it.

Umpire bow realised mistake and will bounce it.

His kick to the northern end missed first score a behind to the Magpies.

North stream out of defence through Ryswyk but a turn over sees the Maggies back in attack, John Butcher lining up for goal on a toght angle over in the north east pocket...

Maggies applying plenty of pressure to the Roosters early, the currently being bottled up on the outer side wing, 4 consecutive ball ups sees the game come to a bit of a stale mate for the time being.
